The elephant in the room is getting error messages and nullifying results, hence wasting strips. The answer is to wait for the strip to register in the monitor ( just a few seconds and the monitor displays the strip number), then slide the strip into the bead of blood, and the strip absorbs the required amount of blood through the tip. I can check glucose, ketones and uric acid with just one bead of blood.Results are accurate. Products are well made and the strip prices are reasonable. I use mine every day and I am pleased to say, very satisfied with this kit.

This is a very good blood glucose meter. The product is made of very good material and feels well made. You get 50 test strips and 50 lancets. Mineccame with a pouch. I compared this tester with the more expensive NHS approved testers and it was pretty accurate. For me buying this tester is great value for money as opposed to the more expensive ones. The lancets are very sharp and draws blood easily. You hold the strip against your finger once landed and the strip absorbs the blood easily. Switch on the meter and wait for it yo count down and then insert the strip. The result are displayed in seconds. No waiting and no fuss. Mmol/l is UK standard. Make sure you order the right meter that specifies mmol/l. Some have other standards. I recommend this tester as it is quite accurate and made of very good material.

As a gout sufferer this is helpful. Although may not be accurate it's shows you in the ball park where u need to be.First time I had an error saying I applied blood to early. Second time waited for a bit after Insertion of strip and got a reading.Also take the test in the morning before you eat as some doctors ask you to fast when taking test.This will help me a lot of, if it continues to work.Update after trying again I had 2 wild reading in 2 minutes, 1 at 460 and second above 500. So this was way over my first test. So hmm not sure now. Dropping review stars sorry

Not cheap but very accurate results , buy when on offer

The meter and instructions are very poor qualityThe meter itself has buttons on the side and front and when pressed either take forever to respond or sometimes just don’t work, not sure if that’s the buttons not working properly or if it’s the meter.The instructions are poor in their layout and usage information. Wouldn’t recommend.— update —Device has now started showing PC on display and has been like this for days without change. Tried pressing buttons however nothing happens. Junk

The unit is exceptionally easy to use. Don't bother with the long instruction manual, just watch the video how to use it. The unit is probably accurate without checking with the pre-calibrated formula. I tested it on me and my wife, and the readings seem sensible. Note that the instruction tells you to test it with the formula, but this formula cannot be purchased anywhere! I was very close to returning the unit for this reason, but I'm glad I didn't. All in all, very easy and quick to use. Versatile - can test uric acid, glucose and ketones. The lance is excellent. All works very well, almost like a professional piece of kit. Highly recommended.-----------------------------------Update after 3 months of use: The readings are about 20% inaccurate (too high) in comparison with the lab data and a more expensive UASure II unit which I bought from America. However, it is consistently 20% greater, hence it can be used if you know this. There is also about 8-10% scatter in the results - if you do a few measurements in a row. Also, some measurements are completely off, but this is only once in a while. So, given the price and availability, this can still be used if you understand the limitations.

After using this machine over 3 months for uric acid tests, I've found it to be inconsistent. I would test myself 3 times first thing in the morning and it would produce 3 very different results. I would take the 2 results closest to each snd use them as a reference but even these don't come close to the official NHS tests I've taken.
