Versatile
Nice small size to tuck in to various places. I like that it alerts to water and freezing and that it works with their App.

First Alert Water leak detector
Set up was as expected. Needed to order cord separately.

Too many nighttime communication disconnects
2 out of five keep dropping the connection and I get notified in the middle of the night while away from homecan't seem to stay reset. Something is wrong when First Alert and Residio made this thing in China

Works with the Resideo app and saved us from water leak damage.
All I can say is it works and it saved us a bundle!! After a year, the batteries still have 70% life remaining. Installation was easy using the Resideo app on my phone. I put the app on my wife's phone as well, then added my wife as another user.I installed this with the 5 foot extension cable option to widen our coverage area about a year ago. The unit was next to our washing machine, and I placed the extension cable under the washing machine. It just saved us from a 2nd floor laundry room leak. First the alarm went off so we could hear it on the first floor. Then my cell phone (running the Resideo app, which is a Honeywell and First Alert related company) alerted me to a water detection on the 2nd floor. It's an expensive piece of hardware, but it's cheap compared to our insurance deductible had we sustained any damage from the leak this device detected. I'm buying more to place under our water heater, and in our HVAC condensation drain pans.

It works as advertised, alerted me to a water leak I might not have known about
Like a handful of other people here, I only purchased these water leak detectors so that I could get a discount on my homeowners insurance. I set them up and I placed one underneath my kitchen sink and I placed one next to my sump pump. The first issue that I had was that one of the detectors started burning through the battery extremely quickly, and it was almost dead within a matter of weeks rather than the advertised two years. Because I was still within the return window on Amazon I went ahead and exchanged it for a new one and that one started working normally.I’m now about 10 months from installing them and the batteries are down to approximately 85% so that seems about right to me. I recently had to replace all of the internal hardware on one of my toilets and just for safety’s sake I took one of the water detectors and placed it underneath the tank just to make sure that there would be no leaks. A couple of days went by and I thought I was in the clear but then this morning I all of a sudden got a push notification to my phone that the detector was detecting water. I was on the second story of my house and the toilet was in the basement so I had not been hearing the beeping. I ran downstairs and sure enough there was a small puddle underneath the toilet. Because of the timely notification I was able to quickly turn off the water and diagnose the issue, so I appreciate these for what they are.

Really works
I put this in the basement of our vacation home next to the hot water heater. Thought it would be a good idea because our insurance agent recommended it. A few days ago, my iPhone beeped, and the Resideo app told me the humidity was in the high 70s. In an hour, it was up to 95%. ! was 1,000 miles away. So, I called the plumber, who found a spraying leak in a pipe that if left unrepaired would have caused serious damage to the first floor above the leak, where it was spraying. Saved me many thousands of dollars in repairs. Great gadget.

They Really Work
I purchased 6 units with extensions, 3 bathrooms, Kitchen, Utility Room, Garage (heat pump water heater and air handler). The reason for the purchase was to receive a discount on my homeowner insurance, and now I am glad I did.Pro ... Performance is constant monitoring for water leaks no matter where you are. Easy to install if you using the just the main units, Loud enough beeping when water is detected, Setup is straight forward, programming App is standard stuff so it basically easy to have full Wi-Fi connectivity in just a few minutes. Knowing you are warned if a leak is present give you a sense of relief that make it a good safety issue. After everything was installed and working. The Cabana Bath, the right J trap sink started leaking, I was notified by the app which saved me a lot of aggravation and money since the cabinet is a solid wood free stand furniture.Cons... Price of the equipment - I consider upfront cost is on the high side for what you get but it turns out that it did save big $$$$, Connection of the extensions wires is easy to the main unit but fishing the lines to correct position for a leak detection can be trying. It turns out to be a cost effective insurance solution.

Piece of junk
BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWERS! Purchased unit, successfully connected to wifi. 6 hours later, batteries are dead (new Energizer lithium "max" batteries, by the way). Seems to be a recurring issue from other posters. But I arrogantly assumed the other reviewers just didn't set up the unit right, and that the batteries died endlessly searching for wifi. But that is not the case, as I was successfully connected. I am also familiar with the product as I have one other in my home that works flawlessly.
