ACME 576 Black Shepherds Mouth Plastic Whistle

Bought this cheaper plastic whistle to see if I can actually use one before spending much more on a stainless steel whistle.Only had it a day or so and can already get a decent noise out of it 😊. There are lots of online tips and videos to help you get the hang of it but, for what it’s worth, I discovered that if you lightly grip the front of the whistle in your teeth, seal around the whistle with your lips, rest the top of your tongue against the back of the whistle with the tip of your tongue underneath the whistle and use the tip of your tongue to stop and start the airflow through the bottom hole of the whistle, it makes the required noise. Finessing this sound to give specific tonal commands will clearly take some practice but I at least I can make a noise with the whistle.Depends on how long the plastic whistle lasts but I have no plans to spend more money on a metal whistle if this one keeps going.Very pleased with the purchase !

Once you get the hang of it this thing can be heard on the moon. I would however urge you to watch a how to film on YouTube or you'll end up like me, going purple in the face as I sprayed spittle all over the shop trying to get my Collies to come back. This is not a reflection on this excellent product but more on my "how hard can it be?" attitude.Or buy it for you partner, sit back and cackle hysterically as they try to sound like a shepherd and end up blacking out in a pool of their own drool.Whistle is great though!!

Ordered this whistle on Sunday free delivery and it got here today, which is fantastic this close to Christmas. The whistle had no instructions at all with it or it would have been 5 stars.The whistle would be pretty impossible to use without decent tutorials so just search for 'sheepdog whistle tutorial' on YouTube and theres some great videos, I couldnt get a sound out of this one until I watched a video and within 30 seconds I was whistling high and low pitch its pretty easy. However getting the sounds clear and at the correct pitch will take lots of time as this is no kids toy.You cant rate this product low because you get what you pay for, it does everything it is designed to do, if you cant use it its not the products fault, even the lack of manual doesnt matter with so much information available online - your buying a whistle not an instruction manual on training dogs. I cant wait to start training my 6 month old Collie with it, but wont start that until I get the whistle commands perfect every time.

Product training is required. No manual included but the packaging directs you to their website for instructions. There are no instructions actually on their website. Furthermore, their feedback form limits the number of characters so useful messages can’t be sent. Overall a waste of money. Avoid.

Look, it might be a bit unfair of me to give this product 3 stars, because I'm sure it's better than that; it's just that I don't know! You don't order this whistle unwrap it and put it to your lips and blow and that's it, it isn't! You have to learn how to use it, then you'll have to learn how to master it: neither of which I have yet to do. Sure, there's a YouTube tutorial, if you want to learn how to play Oh Susanna! Otherwise I'm sure it's an excellent product. It's not you, it's me...

Ok product. But needs a lot practice to master. Unfortunately got fed up trying. But for the price it's OK.Or jokingly. Get a sheep dog and a load of sheep. You'll soon master the whistle when the sheep go missing.

Great little whistle. I learned on this before buying a Logan Ventura Brass whistle (10x the cost)performance is basically similar, the brass is better for sure and more durable but like if you need something that is going to absolutely get the job done then this is for sure your winner. You literally CAN NOT go wrong here. Also just know that learning to do this takes time, its not super easy to learn how to use. I spent many hours sounding like an idiot blowing into this thing until finally making a sound but can now whistle literally anything with it. Wish there were more resources on how to use these in general.

The media could not be loaded. Muy bueno! Es pequeño, pero suena super fuerte. Es de plástico, espero que dure... Quería el de metal que aparte es más grande y parece tener mayor apertura, entonces supongo que más rangos de sonido, pero no aplica con Prime y estaba muy caro el envío 😅.Tardé unos 2 minutos en agarrarle la onda (PERO antes de que llegara mi silbato, vi un video en YouTube de cómo usarlo 😁), aún me falta practicar un poco para colocarlo más rápido y empezar a silbar de inmediato.
