Great radio for navigation and handsfree.
This is an awesome radio. Replaced a factory G35 radio. Works great with Android Auto, navigation is top notch. The only thing that I would like is a radio interface for the navigation screen. Like preset number, station frequency or RDS on the bottom of the map.

Excellent upgrade!
Excellent upgrade for my 2005 Silverado. I am now able to tie my iPhone in wirelessly and use the Maps app with Car Play. Sound quality is super.

Be sure to purchase these two additional things
Works Great, Connectivity could be better, not easy to set up. unless you want to cut your original car's connector off its better to purchase a cable that connects to your car's cable. in addition for me I had to use a frame filler since it doesn't fit properly in the double din space. I looked up online for this model of stereo online and found another vendor which included the right cable and filler for my car specifically. If your purchase this radio here be sure to look for the necessary connections and filler pieces.

Perfect in my Ford E450 Class C Motorhome!
Great replacement for the Soundstream piece of junk in my 2020 Jayco Redhawk. The best features are WIRELESS Android Auto and Apple Car Play and clearer rear view camera image. If you need in-dash GPS, this is not for you.

The Jury is still out.
I installed this in a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Installation was not a problem. Sound is decent. Overall quality is good. Everything seems to work, when it works. But, sometimes it seems to lose it's mind. So far I've had the screen go black and it has started scanning channels on it's own. The only way I could get it to stop was to turn off power.I'll try a firmware update and see if that helps. It not, it may be returned.

Awesome Stereo with Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto
I recently upgraded the stereo in my truck from the Jensen CAR710W to this Sony XAV-AX4000. The Jensen unit was pretty solid for about a year and a half, but after a firmware update wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay failed to connect at least 50% of the time. I was looking for something with a better screen, faster boot time, idata link maestro compatibility, and wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. This stereo checks all of those boxes. The stereo packs quite a bit of really nice features if you use an idatalink maestro and makes my 2013 Tacoma feel like a 2022. Anyone that has used Android Auto or Apple Carplay know that especially for short trips plugging in your phone every time you get in your vehicle becomes a major pain. I'm happy to say that the wireless connection for both Carplay and Android Auto is rock solid. I have not had a single disconnect in the week I've had the stereo installed. The amount of time it takes to boot up and connect my phone wirelessly (via Android Auto or Carplay) is a total of 10 seconds. I have tested and used quite a bit of rental vehicles and my own vehicles with wireless and wired Android Auto and Apple Carplay and I have yet to come across a stereo that connects this fast other than the Sony XAV-AX9500es (which is much more expensive than this unit). I did see some groans about the anti-glare film on the screen, but for me personally it is a non-issue. It makes the screen very easy to see in direct sunlight. It's much easier to see in sunlight than my Jensen CAR710W was and the countless OEM stereos I have used in rental vehicles over the last 3-4 years. Bottom line, if you're looking for a stereo that is feature rich, fast booting, has wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, great sound, plenty of EQ options, and will stand the test of time go with this head unit.I'll update this review in the future if I have any issues with the stereo.

Started out ok, then quickly got worse.
At first, the unit worked fine. Then Android Auto started "skipping" audio and restarting itself. I tried a variety of trouble - shooting methods to fix the issue, including the following:1. Updating firmware on the head unit2. Disconnecting and reconnecting to Bluetooth3. "Forgetting" and reconnecting the head unit to my car4. Tried connecting the head unit to my phone via a USB-c cable5. Restarting the system6. Uninstalling and reinstalling Android AutoNothing seemed to fix the issue. The head unit still experiences very frequent disconnects/restarts and skips audio. I will be returning this and probably buying a Kenwood unit instead for around the same price.
