Worked surprisingly well on unbleached/undyed medium brown hair
I used this product on my daughter's medium brown, unbleached/undyed hair. Most hair color charts place her natural hair color as a level 5. She really wanted her hair to be the same magenta/fuschia color as the character she wanted to be for Halloween (Mal from Disney's Descendants 2, hair is more pink in this movie, where it was purple in the first).I did quite a bit of research first, and chose this based on reviews and photos from other customers. The Manic Panic website also recommended the Hot Hot Pink (and a few others) for unbleached hair as opposed to other colors, so I would stay with their recommendations. I was worried that the color wouldn't show up at all in her hair, and she hates the spray on hair color (which may wash out, but is full of aerosolized chemicals, and I don't like my kids inhaling that stuff). This item had no chemical smell at all.My daughter's hair is typically more towards the oily side (as much as it can be for an 8 year old, for an adult, it would be considered neither oily nor dry). However, she spent a considerable amount of time in the pool this summer, which did dry out the length of her hair somewhat. This may have allowed the dye to penetrate better, despite this being months ago. The dye did seem to adhere just as well to the roots.I rinsed her hair with diluted apple cider vinegar first, while it was still dry, and rinsed well. Then I blow-dried it completely. After thoroughly coating her hair with it, I blow-dried her hair again for about five minutes, put it in a plastic cap, and left it on for a little over 2 hours. I put a towel over the cap as well to keep in heat, and blow-dried it again for another five minutes before rinsing. I had no issues with rinsing it in the shower... it did not turn her back pink while rinsing. I used vaseline around her hairline and had no problems with staining. Since then, there has been the usual issues of staining of pillow cases (and also her forehead, which has acquired a pink tint in the past few days because she has bangs. Nothing worse than expected. The color is still the same a week later (which surprises me, I now wonder if she'll have pinkish hair at Christmas, because I expected at least a little fading within days). When her hair was first rinsed, I worried at first that the color didn't take. But when I started drying it, I was astonished. Because her hair was darker, the hot hot pink color showed up almost the exact same fuschia color as the character's. My daughter was thrilled, and while the process probably took about 3 hours plus, I didn't have to spray her hair full of noxious smelling spray, which I'd have had to wash out on Halloween night when we were both exhausted, and she is just beside herself. Her school has no dress code issues with hair colors, so I don't have to worry about that being an issue. It's incredible that this showed up with her hair being darker. I would buy this product again.

Get Ready for BRIGHT Pink!
An extremely intense pink color that goes on smoothly and easily. I have medium dark hair so I bleached before applying. (I used Manic Panic's Amplified Bleach. If you are doing a lot of hair, or your hair is long, I would get 2 bleach kits if you are using this particular brand.) Manic Panic is easy to apply - just apply the color where you want it, leave it (I left it for about an hour), rinse out. And rinse out. And rinse out. lol Expect to turn your towel pink - for the next couple of washes. The less you wash your hair, the longer it stays. After a few washes, this color will turn a nice shade of pastel pink. (Still pretty.) If you want seriously bright pink hair, just recolor it when it begins to fade. It's MUCH easier to color the second time, since you most likely will only have to apply the color - not bleach. Right after coloring, be careful - ANYTIME your hair gets wet, the color WILL run. (It will also get under your nails when you scratch your head.) These minor annoyances don't bother me enough to stop using Manic Panic...but I would want to know this stuff before I used it.Bottom Line: Manic Panic is the BEST product out there for coloring your hair funky shades. It lasts much longer than any other brand I've tried, it's easy application makes re-touches "cake", and the colors are bold and brilliant. I wouldn't hesitate to use this brand, or color, again. You definitely make a statement! (If you want a pastel shade to begin with, buy their Pastel-izer. It will turn any bold shade of Manic Panic into a subdued pastel.) ManicPanic.com is full of awesome information and great tips. There's even a spot where they show what the hair color looks like on real people.Best part? The don't test any of their products on animals. YAY!

VERY vivid color but a tad harder to work with than High Voltage
I’ve previously used manic panic high voltage pink warrior to extend my time between professional color and really loved it. I saw this and thought I’d give it a try to see which one I preferred.Pros:-the color is VERY vivid and brighter than the high voltage pink warrior. I honestly am in LOVE with the color-The squeeze bottle makes root application easyCons:-It’s not as thick as the high voltage and I found it harder to work with-The squeeze bottle is nice…until it isn’t. I found it unpredictable with how forcefully the dye would project from the opening. We now have several light pink stains in our bathroom from projectile dye. Granted, this could be more of a “me” issue, but it’s my my pro and con list, so there lol-I do not feel like it “stuck” to my root growth as well as the high voltage. Obviously, there’s going to be a color difference between growth and bleached hair, and I expect that no matter what dye i use. With the high voltage dye my growth was a very obvious darker pink. With the Amplified, the pink was there it just was not as obvious.I’ve been going back and forth because the amplified pink is a very WOW color, but the cons list is so much longer than the pros for me. I think I may try a combination of the High Voltage and the Amplified (not mixed together, but rather applied to different parts of my hair) and see how that works out.
