It works, but some of the needles were not cut right
I noticed one of the needles has a snag on it like it was taken out of the mold wrong??? Idk but since it's metal, I can't get rid of the snag and just resorted to using the other needle and had no problem.

Lovely needlework tool reasonably priced and promptly delivered!
This little item is about 4" long and I will use it for replicating 18th century tambour embroidery, although I understand it is also popular for beading. Much to my delight, it arrived almost immediately. It came with one hook and two spares, since they are easily lost or broken. Great packaging for this fragile item. Glad to find this item, since few brick and mortar shops carry them!

decent
The needles are smooth and the handle holds the needle well. It will give it you have to do a lot of yanking. I would prefer to buy something of much higher quality but this is more than sufficient considering I can't find one anywhere. I bought another set and their .7 needle felt flexible and made an annoying rubbing sound. This one feels sturdy and it's smooth across the fabric

Pretty good
Good quality, not excellent but a lot better than the one I got off Etsy. I put a dot of superglue on the edge of the metal and wood to ensure stability. Would buy again for a basic needle set

Practice, practice, practice!
Great little tool! I’m enjoying learning this new tambour technique! Taking little bites at a time! Tried different threads, different needles, different fabric, practicing the technique, and especially keeping the tension steady.

Fun!!! And NEW CHALLENGE
Can't wait to get home, at son's home with broken leg, so I can play with my new sewing toy, I have everything I need to use this very useful and example of antiquated sewing technique

Just not good
One needle arrived snapped at the throat. The middle needle had such a large burr on it that it's essentially unusable. And the holder broke off the handle after 45 minutes of practicing. Just spend the money on the Laci one, or order from a reputable couture supplier. I need to work on a commissioned project and instead I will be waiting another week for the ones I've ordered from a couture supplier on Etsy to show up.

Screw needs to be shortened
Because of the type of machining they did on the screw clamp, youll need to file the tip down just a bit in order to get it to thread with the needle in the holder, so if that's beyond your skills or too much hassle for you id skip this one and opt for the more expensive ones.I read the other reviews and i dont think the people knew whatnor how a tambour needle works. The beads dont go on the needle, they go on the thread below the hoop to be heald and manuvered by the non-dominant hand. The tambour needle itself is for making a chain stitch so it takes some skill to learn. The item is otherwise fine, the hooks are sharp tipped with a smooth inner hook so no snagging or breaking of the thread. The handle isnt varnished but its still faily soft and a comfortable hold.
