This gets the "Most Played With Toys Award" at Grandma's. Get them all!!
The Rescue Bots are definitely a favorite with the grandkids. They watch the movies over and over. I have purchased all of the different transformers and will leave the same review for all of them. There is definitely a favorite Rescue Bot and that is surprisingly the Fire Truck Heat Wave. With that being said, they have enjoyed ALL of them and it seems you need all of them (according to the kids anyway!). These are easily transformed by the little ones 2 years old and up. Usually transforms in about two or three moves. These transformers are by far the " most played with toy" at Grandma's. Make sure when you purchase these that they include the "blue crystal weapon" as shown (and they are all different weapons depending on the Hero). The ones with the "blue crystal weapon" are a good size and well made. Some others don't transform and are tiny when you get them. I make purchases on Amazon ONLY after reading reviews... so I hope this review helps.

BEST TOYS EVER!!
If you are searching for the PERFECT handheld toy for a little boy (or little girl, really) aged 3-6, THESE are the toys! These Rescue Bots have been around the world with my son. They have been thrown on the ground during massive battles between bots and dug into the sand to be buried treasure. These guys have been tossed in the tub and rough housed only short of being run over by a car (although they may even survive that!!) My son is rough on toys and these guys have lasted the years. I LOVE these and HIGHLY recommend for little tough tikes like mine! They all still transform super easily which is perfect for little hands or those kiddos who do not want to take the time to transform in 8-10 steps. These transform in 1 or two easy steps! Sturdy and easy. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Not to mention that the TV show, Rescue Bots, is a fantastic show with morals and values that most TV shows lack these days.

Rescue Bots Roll to the Rescue
My son absolutely loves these Rescue Bots, so much so that after we acquired the first 2 (Prime and Bumblebee) we have been on mad search to find the other 6! We just completed the collection with Medix but be warned these things seem to go into and out of stock and if you happen to be looking when they are out of stock you will pay big $. We saw Blades the Coptor Bot for over $80 for a month straight then we found one at a Target we had visited at least 12 times for 12.99 and the next day Amazon had them came back in stock...These toys are extremely durable, my five year old is very rough with his toys and these have held up without any issues! They are super simple to transform and therefore can be played with without alot of "Dad can you help me transform this?". Definitely well worth it.

It was so confusing for me trying to figure out who these various Rescue Bots are!
We'd purchased the "Energize" series Bumblebee figure for our middle grandson a couple of Christmases ago, but my memory bank didn't contain the specifics any more as to who exactly Bumblebee was - I'd just recalled it had been a favorite of his dad (my son) back in the late '80s and that his transformers were always on his Christmas lists. I was a little concerned that our grandson, who was a few months shy of 3, might be a bit too young since - although I was always intrigued by the engineering that'd gone into them - they'd always seemed pretty complicated to transform. Once we saw him snatch it and happily run off after a quick demonstration by his 4-years-older brother, we decided to go ahead and purchase the remainder of the "Energize" series (Chase the Police-Bot, Heatwave the Fire-Bot, Optimus Prime, Blades the Copter-Bot and Boulder the Construction-Bot) for his 3rd birthday - I understand he's really enjoyed them over the past ten months, so it was time to start looking into the possibility of adding more of these figures for his 4th birthday in March - boy, did this past year go FAST!If there's one thing I've learned over these past going-on-8 years as a grandparent, it's that you can maintain just a passing interest in what they like, or you can dive in and be able to get a better appreciation for whatever "floats their boat" at any given stage and - since there were SO many various listings for Rescue Bots, it was a bit confusing so I decided to do a little digging and here's some info for any fellow grandparents who may have been as bewildered as I was! From what I can gather, in the Rescue Bots cartoon our grandsons watch (which I understand is up for a 2016 Annie Award for accomplishments in animation), there are apparently three Autobots (leader Optimus Prime, Bumblebee & High Tide), four main Rescue Bots (I hear these are less experienced Autobots, and they are Heatwave, Chase, Blades & Boulder), and two "recruits" (Salvage & Blurr). Medix the Doc-Bot and Hoist the Tow-Bot are other characters in the Autobots storybook series. There appear to have been six (so far) series toys since the 2011 inception of the Rescue Bots. The original line came with a standard red, silver, or white Autobot insignia and detachable collector card that showed the Bot (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Heatwave, Chase, Boulder & Blades) with their designated human partner. An extended line in 2012 came with a new stylized red Rescue Bot Autobot insignia rather than the standard Autobot symbol, bringing two more characters (Medix & Hoist) along with redecorated Optimus Prime & Heatwave. In 2013 the Energize line came out (characters mentioned in my first paragraph), and the toys began looking more like how they do in the cartoon than the original books - their stylized Rescue Bot symbol and many paint applications changed to an Energon blue color and their rescue tools were now all translucent light Energon blue. 2014's Roar and Rescue line had the Rescue Bots transforming into Dinobots (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Heatwave, Chase, Boulder & Blades), and Hasbro began using thinner plastic with the models being @ 2/3 the size of the original figures. Last year (2015), they first came out with a Rescan line that included new alternate modes (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Heatwave, Chase, Boulder & Blades), while continuing the new smaller size and thinner plastic along with the light Energon blue Rescue Bot symbol and paint applications. Then late last year the Rescue Bots (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Chase, Boulder, Blades, Medix, Salvage & Blurr... they didn't mention Heatwave, which is odd) returned to their original alternate forms in new smaller molds. So the bottom line - this is the quality Medix model (transforms into an ambulance) from that original 2012 extended release, the larger figure (@ 5-1/2"H & W, 2-1/2" thick), which is about the same size as the Energize models our grandson already has (and I'm shocked we were able to get him for under $10, considering the fact that we're getting he and Hoist four years after they came out - Hoist is costing us an arm and a leg!) We're picking up Salvage and Blurr from the new crop - Salvage definitely IS smaller (i.e. the Salvage model we just received is @ 5"H, 3-1/2"W, 2" thick), the Titan figure of Blurr doesn't even transform (returned it, but we can't afford the unimaginable price we've seen the smaller model going for - goodness!), and the plastic is NOTICEABLY thinner. I'm really glad we went with the older models on the rest of them, but after adding High Tide, I think that'll be it for Rescue Bots... not interested in shelling out any more into smaller models made with thinner plastic. One thing - grandparent-to-grandparent - "cute" is not appropriate terminology to use in reference to these mighty Rescue Bots, according to our grandsons - "awesome", "amazing", "cool", etc. are much better descriptions!(2017 update: Is anyone else getting annoyed with Amazon stripping their reviews of "verified purchase" tags? When this review was originally published, it carried the "Verified Purchase" tag - I paid $7.93 for it on 1/15/16. Amazon took the money directly from my checking account. Now that tag has been stripped - why?! They had no problem taking my money... why can they no longer verify it?! Wow - you never know what is or isn't an actual verified purchase these days, do you?!)

Easy to transform!
My 5 year old boy loves these Transformers Rescue Bots toys. The cartoon is his favorite so he had to have the toys to go along with it.I am very impressed with how easy they transform and he has no problem turning them from robot into a car.My oldest son got some of the more complicated ones a few years back and he tried to transform them once and could never get them back right. I even couldn't. They were so hard to transform it would take forever. With these you just start to move and the robot starts to change by himself. So cool!!!He has collected a few of these so far and loves them all. I am so pleased that he can actually play with them by himself.Great for little ones!
