Amazing for a dried shroom
These are really good. I wasn’t expecting big things from a dried mushroom, but the texture was really nice. I sautéed them. Pretty good flavor but I did use a touch of Adobo seasoning which made the taste really pop. I cannot wait to get some fresh ones. I tried chicken of the woods recently, and they really do taste like chicken. I’m hoping some fresh ones have just a slightly better texture and taste. But make no mistake, these were legit.

Healthy and delicious
Delicious variety. I used this mushroom in vegan cooking for a special dietary needs person, and it really brought some "poultry" feel and taste to a meatless dish. Small package, wish it were more - as these types of mushrooms are not cheap. As is, I see only about 3 decent sized servings from this packet.

It’s takes a long time for mushroom to soften
The quality could be better. My mushrooms never fully softened. It had a slight lobster taste. When I opened the bag, however, it was enchantingly like being in the ocean. The smell of salty air! But was a lil disappointed in this product. Maybe it wasn’t as fresh as it was supposed to b? Not sure. Thought it would have a heavier lobster flavor, or the flavor is lost during the drying process, somewhat. The size of some of the mushrooms were large! The color was right.

A new favorite. Stupidly expensive though.
As someone who loves lobster, I can tell you that these were not named for their taste but rather for their appearance. When cut up, this mushroom *looks* like cooked lobster meat. The flavor though is nothing at all like lobster so do not get these if you're looking for that. Their flavor and texture though really is quite good. I'd liken it much more closely to chicken than lobster.Anyone who's used to dried mushrooms knows the directions for rehydrating printed on the package aren't reliable. Rather than just putting them in water and waiting 20 minutes, because they are dry and full of air and want to float, put a spoon over then to make sure they are completely sumberged in boiled (not boiling) water. You should see bubbles coming up as they soak up all the water. As for the taste and texture, both are great but because they are dried, rehydrating them naturally saps a good amount of flavor from them, making them better suited for soups and such than for cooking. If you want to fry them though, I fried some up in 1tbsp of butter until slightly seared, sprinkled a little Badia Complete into it and then had them topped with pico de gallo and man was that good. Could be a great meat substitute if not for the price.

Yumm
These were delish, smelled and tasted as seafood. Kids didn't even know what I was cooking but they are allergic to seafood and asked if that's what it was from the smell. I would recommend if you like the texture softer I would soak a bit longer than suggested on the package.

not what it seems
Received a bag of particles of mushrooms. Followed directions to rehydrate exactly resulting in pieces still very firm. Taste was awful. Unfortunately, was unreturnable and a waste of money.

Taste to die for, such memorable delight.
Wonderful, delicate, delicious taste. Not bitter, not bold, very tender, good texture, but the taste is what makes these mushrooms so desirable.
