This is a great book and it is too bad that it is out of print. I throughly enjoy reading about a composer and then listening to their music, as it brings so much more meaning to the work of art. Also, it does a great job of illustrating the composer and era of their life .

The book needs to be divided into two volumes.1 Into classical composers2 Into modern composers.Compressing both into one doesn't work.

I wish the composers page order is by the year of their period, instead of the alphabetical order....Other than that, it is great book.

A very interesting read if like me you studied music many years ago and just wish to have a reminder of some of your favourite composers without getting to deep into the history of them. A vey good reference book.

Bought as a reference book and has just enough about each composer for a quick thumbnail view.

Good to see that the COMPOSERS are listed in Alphabetical Order, and pleased to see ALBINONI in there.
