Wambooka Diamond WAMDR1 Darbuka with Deluxe Gig Bag

I purchased this drum to use at local drumcircles & to jam with my kids on the beach. We are very familiar with turkish darbuka because its in my husbands culture. This drum is slightly wider on the body and the head than a darbuka so more like a sombaty. its very light and you dont have to worry about it being damaged or affected by humidity and rain. I like the clear head too. Sounds pretty good for what I need it for. Just wish it had a rubber ring on the bottom to keep it from getting chipped. Easy to clean, looks cool with battery operated string lights inside, & has a good sound. Can be tuned with a drum key that comes with it. Nice carry bag.

I'm a darbuka teacher and performer who wanted a drum that was water-resistant- I do a number of "hot tub haflas" and rain-or-shine parades. This drum is perfect for those venues and much more. I haven't had a chance to play the drum "wet" yet (you can actually put water inside the drum to create "bended" tones!) but it sounds terrific as a regular darbuka. I can't wait to bring the Wambooka to class tomorrow night!

Very little head adjustment necessary. Shipping box was very secure and well padded with foam. Carrying case is very high quality. This will be a superb camping drum.
