A giant step down from her other books.
I really enjoyed the content of the book and the overall message. However, it's written in a manner where the author calls people out for violence but then turns around and writes the entire thing in a hostile tone while attacking people like Gordon Ramsey for no good reason. The message, while a good one, seemed crowded and disregarded by hypocrisy of using such an angry tone at many times. I was also hoping there would be considerably more content on "love in violent times" rather than half a book telling of various rapes. If the point of the book is to discuss love in violent times then it should probably fill more than 1/8 of the book. The title was a bit misleading and I feel like the author fails to recognize within herself the very faults she's pointing fingers at negatively. We are all violent.

Reading this book was worse than the time I endured in the penal system.
I hated this book immensely. The author endorses a number of incredibly stupid positions, but the most breathtaking has to be that "rape didn't exist in the New World before Europeans colonized it."Do not support the author, do not waste your time, money, or mental energy on this piece of absolute garbage.

Inga Muscio tells it like it is
I will read anything by Inga Muscio. She has a gift for plain speaking from the experience of the heart that encourages the reader to make associations and feel that she is right there alongside the author. This book asks the reader to make some uncomfortable realizations that at the same time feel good for having uncovered the knowing and shining the light on it. Muscio should be mandatory reading for public education curricula, as well as members of the US Congress and the Senate who think women are lowly vessels of sin...ugh!

Amazing
This book has changed my life -- it's THE book I refer to if anyone asks me what my favorite book is. It's an honest, critical look at violence and love and she writes with such blatant diction, it's a quick read, but you feel engaged and entranced the entire time. It'll change your perspective on what and how you think of love and of violence. I feel like every person (especially every woman) needs to read this book to push their thinking and to help them reevaluate the world...

Much like its predecessor
Much like its predecessor, this sequel-book makes me feel strong and womanly and brave, and perhaps like I should do Something About It.
