so far so good. it pairs nicely with my d3000 and with my first few pictures everything is looking crisp and clear. i didn't notice any major distortions and the added range compared to the 18-55mm lens is a huge plus. although the shoe is plastic, not metal, it appears to sit well in the housing with no wiggles or wobbles. time will tell. i will update when i put it through some more work but i am totally happy with this purchase.
