🍅 Time to spice up your kitchen with a dash of fun!
The Jayron JR-WG017 Kitchen Cooking Timer is a charming mechanical countdown timer designed in the shape of a tomato. It features a manual operation that requires no batteries, making it both eco-friendly and easy to use. With a maximum countdown of 60 minutes, it's perfect for cooking, baking, or even timing study sessions.

Works as it should
Just have to remember to follow the instructions and turn it all the way to 59, then BACK to the amount of time you're setting the timer for. It does make a ticking sound as it counts down, which does not bother an oldster like me. Kids, however are used to phone and iPad timers that are silent, so ticking can be distracting. Nice little timer for me.

Arrived broken, requires physical return only
Broken on arrival. I followed the directions exactly (winding clockwise to 55, etc.). but the timer would not wind past a brief point, nor would it tick properly. To get a refund or replacement, the seller requires you to physically mail it back to them, thus making you go to more trouble for their mistake. Cute enough tomato, but don’t waste your money on it.

Cute novelty timer!
I use this cute novelty timer for 25 minute task blitzing! I set it and work! It’s perfect for this job and the time has a nice sound when it goes off! I don’t know how precise it is if you need it accurate down to the minute or second, but for 20 & 25 minute settings it works great.

CORRECTION - there IS a DING indicator/sound when timer ends
I tried to return this timer b/c I thought it didn’t have a ding at the end of the timer. But then I read through more of the reviews & some customers write that we need to READ THE DIRECTIONS carefully, and they are right! You have to windup the timer by rotating to the 60 min mark, then rotate back to your correct set timer time. I think the company just mails out “broken timers” as though they are new, so my box looks damaged. Or maybe it got crushed in transport. But either way, there IS a diner upon completion of the timer.

Noisy countdown - this is important!
The reason tomato-shaped timers are popular is mostly down to the "pomodoro" time management method. This product is completely useless for that purpose because it ticks REALLY LOUDLY throughout the countdown. This is really important information to include in the description - most buyers are unlikely to want ao 60 minute "tick-tock"The one I received doesn't ring when time is up, although I assume that is a defect rather than a feature (shaking it reveals that there is a bell of some kind inside).Useless.

Extremely Loud
Most of what I've read online recommended keeping the "pomodoro method" as low tech as possible for the best results. However, this timer is too loud for me -- you can hear it tick from across the room, and under blankets. It's not a bad product as a kitchen timer but it's not useful for what I bought it for.
