Great IDE to SATA converter
Works perfectly. Very nice that it has tape on the pcb to prevent shorts. Running a modded OG XBox with a 2TB SSD and it was plug and play. Good quality product.

Works exactly as specifed but...
Be aware that the jumper is a switch between IDE to SATA (connecting an IDE device to a SATA controller) and SATA to IDE (connecting an SATA device to an IDE controller). It is not a Master/Slave select. It can only exist on the bus as a Master. Unfortunately this not stated anywhere on the device or its packaging although there is plenty of space for this information. This information was gleaned from the Kingwin website.

Works with NAS - Update - Not working with NAS
Update - I had to return these because they do not work with my NAS because they do not have a master / slave jumper. Apparently the jumper on this device is not for master / slave settings. If you need these jumpers then this won't work for you.If you do not need master / slave jumpers then this adapter works great, and I had no issues with the 4 I purchased.Original Review Below:I bought this because I have an old Venus T4U USB NAS with IDE connections, and the drives I want to put in it are SATA.I was concerned that the SATA to IDE adapter would not work with the NAS, but it works great. I only ordered one to test it out and I will be ordering three more to finish the project. The adapter has plastic covering the SATA connection side to protect from contacting metal and shorting it out.The only thing that dropped it down to a 4 star instead of 5 star is that there are no instructions. There is a jumper on the adapter and I have no idea what it is for?Recommended

Works Pretty Well for an Alternative
Not sure how many people even use IDE anymore but this adapter works well if you need to access SATA on IDE. Most motherboards don't even have IDE on them anymore but this is a good alternative to using a docking station.

Easy way to waste $10. Step one buy this.
Unusable. Trying to install Windows at all? Drive is unreadable? Try to format on another system? That's cute. Scan Disk says the whole drive is bad. Speaking of formating on other systems file system reports as unknown. *Inserts usual comment about zero stars* Waste of money do not buy. Also no proper jumper for Master or slave.

Worked well on vintage emachines PC
I needed this adapter to install a new SATA SSD in a vintage emachines T1100 PC with IDE and molex cables. It fit and installed with ease and I was able to install Windows XP without issue. I like how there are indicator lights on the adapter as well. I was not able to run any speed tests, but I doubt it will be very fast considering the IDE portion. However, I'm positive it is still much faster than a standard mechanical drive. Would recommend!

Not recommended for OG Xbox..
It will work on the OG Xbox but boot times are extremely slow to the point the console will throw error codes when soft restarting. It's not worth the hassle, buy another adapter if your wanting to upgrade your Xbox HDD to a SATA.
