Great quality! Not cheap Chinese junk
I bought the Amazon warehouse deals cheap Chinese junk first for less than half the price of this one. Big mistake. You get what you pay for. It was DOA. Yes, I know what I’m doing. On the 1998 Honda CRV it’s dummy proof. The tabs on the spline are slightly offset and indented on one side of them so you can’t put it in 180 degrees off. Just look at the direction the old one is in when you pull it off and line this one up the same. It’s a no brainier. The spark plug cables should be marked before you remove them so you know where to put them back. They must be in the correct order or the car will crank but not start. On the 98 CRV it’s 1 2 from left to right on the bottom of the distributor and 3 4 from left to right on top. You can tell this thing is brand new and not a remanufactured one that clearly has been cleaned and repainted. This exact same distributor sells at the local big chain parts store for over $300. The OEM part from the Honda dealer was $1,140 new. My CRV fires right up now. No more hard starts or having to push the pedal in sometimes just to start. The error code was a Honda P1362; a bad top dead center sensor. It’s inside the distributor and not meant to be replaced by itself. Honda won’t sell this part. Could not find this part alone anywhere. It looks pressed in and behind the gasket. Not a good idea to try and take it out. If you have a first generation CRV you need the non VTEC distributor. You can tell if you have a VTEC engine because it has the ignition coil on the engine near the distributor. The plug will be the hardest part of this job. To remove it first get a screw driver and push the tab facing the distributor out then wiggle it off the distributor. Next push the tab in on the opposite side and pull straight up. I had to use a channel lock to pull it off. Put the connector on in opposite order. Connect the two sides of connector first then onto the distributor last. People say to adjust timing after but I didn’t and it runs great.

Most important? It feels solid and it works out of the box!
Shortly After Day One: OK so I'm writing a review pretty much on day one of ownership. Watching videos on youtube, I expected way more problems doing this but it was really easy. Just replace the old one with this one, make sure the rotor's in the right direction and voila! Working car.It worked perfectly in my CR-V right now and has for the last few days. I'll edit this review in a couple of months to give you an update. So far it has been perfect.

Worth the money!
Was extremely surprised by the quality of this part and absolutely thankful I spent the extra money because it really seems like a quality solid build. It was a perfect fit-took about 15 minutes to install and the car fired right up without any issues. Bought for my 98 Honda CR-V. Will post update year from now to update on durability and reliability.***update***2 months and is still running great!

Plug 'n' Play
Easy install, set timing, runs like a champ now. Longevity remains to be seen but fingers crossed. I'll post an addendum if it breaks.

Good quality.
Good quality part. Just had to bolt on, adjust the timing with a timing gun, and everything works perfectly. Don't forget to bridge the blue service connector under the passenger side dash before adjusting.
