great story
It's one of my favorite stories in the comics, maybe the best thing to come out of the New 52. The art is engaging, the writing is true to the characters, and the book itself came in great condition. Definitly recommend!

Minor issues but Overall solid read. (no spoilers)
Volume 4 is a solid continuation from the last 3 previous volumes of the series. It did not miss a beat with James Tynion picking of the series. Apparently many people aren't big fans of Lobdell's work on the series for some reason, I happen to think what he was able to do with Red Hood and the outlaws was outstanding. Easily of the best batman titles to look for in the New 52 especially with the incredible work he did last with Jason todd's death of the family arc. So coming from me, James Tynion IV had some big shoes to fill and he handled it fairly well, minus a couple flaws here and there. The art was also fairly solid and even impressive at times there as well minus a few critiques i may have. The writing was solid throughout the book, i actually enjoyed it very much while reading it but if i had to make a critique it would have to be how Roy is portrayed throughout the book, and how a lot of times everything felt a little more melodramatic than it needed to be. I won't go into detail but a lot of the times it felt very high school drama and even cheesy at times in comparison to rest of series. The art was solid. Very beautiful and impressive imagery throughout the book that really captures the characters when it finds it stride. It definitely helped carry the book to this epic scale. My biggest complaint with the art is probably how some characters were drawn throughout the first two issues. (#19 and Annual #1). Some of the faces seemed a little unrecognizable in the beginning and there were times in Roy's early character design when working with green arrow makes him come off really weird and even goofy not that I shouldn't be one to criticize the art. I couldn't do anything half as good as this on my best day, but that's not to say i disliked the art on the book. Those were my only complaints. It finds its footing very early, and it really elevates the book. Aside from those two issues, i'd say it's a pretty solid read and great continuation. Roy really gets some time to shine in this book, this is very much his moment to shine similar to how both starfire and red had their time. This was very much Roy's story for the most part. I'm excited to see where this goes. I recommend this to anyone looking for a solid series to follow or a fan of batman and batfamily. This is definitely a solid series. I'm sitting at around 7.5/10 if i had to be critical.

New beginning
I thought this volume brought about a new era of the series. New writer, new artist, new everything. Some may say, "Oh, they completely took a nose dive from the core story", but it's just the way a series like this must take measures to ensure the consumer. I may be speaking nonsense, but this new era of Red Hood will prove to be a formidable and beloved series in the long-run.

Although I miss the stories and art from Volume 1 ala Lobdell and Rocafort, James Tynion IV manages to weave some really great storylines together in this book and it's an enjoyable read. The only problem I had with it was the artwork of Julius Gopez. The characters' faces are drawn in what looks like rough sketchy form and they end up with expressions that make them look goofy and cartoonish. The cover art by Javier Mena is some of the most amazing comic artwork I've ever seen.
