Clement Faugier Gourmet Chestnut Spread From France Vanilla 17.5 oz

Back in France, I used to eat this from a tube but I must say it was just as good from the can. I used a spoon and loved this chestnut stuff. You can put it on toasts as you would jam.

Creamy and sweet but not overwhelming. Can doesn't always around intact but the content is ok. The price has gone up tremendously so I don't but it as often but definitely worth a splurge every once in a while. You can use it in the making of desserts although I use it as a part of a fruit salad.I serve it i small bowls. Put about a heaping tablespoon of chestnut cream, fruit salad on top and a dollopof whipped cream over the fruit salad. Delish!

OMG, YUK! One of the reviewer’s described this like Nutella fudge, it is nothing like fudge nor does it taste like fudge. The best way to describe it is the texture of mash beans with some sugar very little flavor, the packaging was horrible, you pay eight dollars for a small can they could at least include a plastic lid that goes out over the contents of the can. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk! Don’t waste your money, Nutella is 10 times better.

I have a friend who makes a chestnut cake so I gave her a can. She swears by it, was pleased when I told her the price. Now this is all she uses. I transfer it to a jar as I spread it on toast. Delish.

It was such a pleasure to share this with my daughter, who had not had crème de marrons since her early childhood. The shame (arguably) was that we had to eat it up in just a few days, as there was no resealable lid. The gourmand in me thrills at this packaging fail, but the sensible part wants to be able to savor this chestnut delight at a more leisurely pace, especially given the lofty price!
