Badass sub in a good way well worth the money....
Okay I'm a DJ and I was looking for a good sub at a reasonable price.. boy did I make the right choice. This speaker hit so hard and so low that I get goosebumps.. sometimes I turn down the mids and highs just to hear the bass I'm a low-key bass head..lol I bought this speaker to replace my Peavey 18 inch sub.. now I'm looking for another box so I can buy another speaker and have twice the bass..... Update a year later .. So I add another sub to the system. And boy boy boy dismiss the still a great sub... Don't sleep on it this is really awesome so I love the low's

Great Replacements
I've used 3 of these for replacements in a Yamaha 218 cabinets. They work very well with this cabinet, and they easily out gun the stock Yamahas in both sound quality and strength. Each speaker sees around 2K watts regularly, no problem. They are still strong living a hard life 2 years and many shows later. I'll use these any time I need a replacement.

Very disapointed
I bought this to replace an extremely old Carvin sub that had literaly dry rotted. Installed the sub in the box and started breaking it in with low volume. I was running it crossed over from 30 to 120hz with a behringer Inuke nu3000DSP amp. My signal is clean and all of my gains on my sources and mixer and crossover and amp are tweaked with an osc scope. Even at unity on my mixer{almost wide open} Itis set so there is 0 clipping and an average of close to 600 RMS watts going to the sub. With that said, During break in I was blown away. The sound of this thing was incredible.Clean deep punchy bass and very powerful sounding. I actually turned the gain down a bit more because it was a bit much for my 15 inch tops. After a break in period I fed them a little more volume and was even more impressed. The amount of air this thing was moving and the sound quality was beyond belief.Skip ahead a month.I had never even turned them up to the max levels I had set when I started getting a popping sound on deep bass notes. Iwasnt giving it any where near its rated power and it was a clean signal with no clipping. Luckily because of covid i wasnt out doing a dj gig with it.Over 50 year old fairly knowledgable sound guy here. I have to say stay away from this one. Sounded good but it should have never blown with the low volume and clean power it was getting.

Worth the price, nice flagship series
Really like the quality of these for the price, around $80, Biggest gripe or thing that bothers me about these is that on the best site it states they’re 101db spl at 1w/m and the outside of the packaging states 101 but then in the manual that you review me inside the box says they are 97db spl at 1w/m???

Very impressed
I’m impressed,i needed to replace my blown altec lancing 418,but altec doesn’t make any more and a used 1 is 525.00 dollars,so shopped around for something made today and not 5hundred dollars just for the 15inch and not some cheap import “ want to be” speaker cuz they are many of those.Came across alpha f/s 15”,had good specs with a cast aluminum basket, not cheap little steel basket so I bought. Installed in 1 of my 5ft altec pro audio boxes and listened to it compared to the altec 418 and it hit harder & a little lower that’s y I’m impressed just at 59dollars each,I’m pushing them with a 5k watt NAD power amp, they sound great.Highly recommend

Happy again.
Replaced a Yorkville 18 in my ls 808 cabinet. Very pleased with the power handling. Powered by a QSC 3602. Cabinet walking across the garage floor. Ordered another one for my other cabinet. The woofer didn't seat completely flush but no air leaking. Will run these with the other 6 cabinets and give an update. Update!! Woofers are still kickin!! Also want to add I had to drill the holes on the woofers to make them work with my pre drill mounts. A little extra time but worth it. Will order 4 for my Earthquakes...

Great Product!
I was surprised with this sub. I usually use eminence, but this one performs just as well, and frankly, seems a little bit tighter of a response.
