First Man's First Book
We have a collection of these OPCTW books and this one has definitely been long awaited for. It really gets to the roots of what engineering is, and how Neil Armstrong dealt with every life-threatening situation with calm, cool and collected grace. A really well painted portrait of the inner strength of Neil. Also chock full of information on the vehicles, and the international space programs at the time. My 4 and 6 year olds are enraptured by the book. Also the foldout spread of the Earthrise shot is a great touch to really hit home—that was the first moment in human history that a human had seen the Earth from afar. Brilliant little book about a big human.

Inspiring & Full of ❤️
I just received this yesterday and read it to my 6 yr old son. My son is obsessed with space, had a rocket scientist as a grandpa and already wants to be an engineer. I not only love the illustrations in this book, but it is so well written. I actually thought it would be a much simpler book because of the cover, but it had a lot of information about Neil Armstrong and was so very inspirational! I darn nearly cried at the end! No joke!!! Love this and will probably have to order the other biography books by this author!

I am. . .They relate!!
I bought this for my students so they could read about the lives of famous people from the time they were children. My third grade students love, love, love the I am series. To see third graders loving biographies as much as Dog-Man is most inspiring and has us on our way to wide reading for the year!

Fantastic book
I bought this book along with several others from this book series for my 7 year old son. This is beautifully written and has adorable illustrations. My son loved this book and I absolutely adore the message the story delivers. All of these stories are very inspiring. I'm very happy with this purchase and I am excited to continue reading the rest of the series with my children

Fun book with inspirational themes
My seven-year-old loves this book. It tells the story of Neil Armstrong in a fun and engaging way, while highlighting positive themes such as the value of patience, persistence, and a desire to learn. My son especially enjoyed the comic book style bubbles and the depiction of Neil Armstrong as a child. What a fun and inspirational book!

Books are always a nice gift
Disclaimer: I’ve written the same review to almost all the books on this series. My daughter and son loves them. Been purchasing the whole series for a few months now. Super easy readings for kids, even for the 20-min trip between house and school. Interesting lives, and you can later discuss the story with the kids. I have found that most of them (stories) stick to their minds, even recalling full names and events a few weeks/months later.

I find these fairly thin and short booklet expensive but the quality makes up for it. This book is very attractively illustrated and contains a well-told storyline that children can relate to and that grown up will enjoy. The colourful hard covered booklet is simply presented in an excellent manner. . Our daughter is a little older than the target audience I guess, and at 9 years of age already into more serious literature. Nevertheless she adores this books that we gave her as a birthday present. She has also been reading it to her younger brother - who has been similarly fascinated. She has some affinity with the topic of the Apollo moon missions as the learned about the first moonlanding at school. Moreover we recently watched Apollo 13, in which Neil makes an appearance! - a movie that got her on the edge of her seat. I’m quite intrigued by the range of topics in this series, and so our children will be treated on more of these books. The only thing is that the amount of books in the series is not that extensive yet.

Love these books.

The book was extremely costly and it is not worth for the cost. Nothing is there for the kids to follow or accept as a role model.
