Pet Shop Boys’ 1988 release ‘Introspective’ has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide to date and was the first to feature production by Trevor Horn, whose lavish orchestrations marked a new sonic direction for PSB. House Music legend, Frankie Knuckles created the mix of “I want a dog” while “Domino dancing” was recorded in Miami with hit producer Lewis Martinée. ‘Introspective’ also saw Pet Shop Boys introduce a new approach to the format of an album and its respective singles: each of the 6 tracks on the album’s original track-listing is over six minutes in length, and they were later edited to fit the more traditional format of a seven-inch single. “The idea was to have an album where every track was a single. And in fact five out of the six of them were, because ‘I’m not scared’ was a single for Patsy Kensit, or rather for her group Eighth Wonder”, says Neil Tennant.

pretty good album good souding vinyl
while some songs are repetitive and boring, overall this album is better then some of the later Pet Shop Boys albums

This vinyl sets the standard
I'm totally blown away by how good this 2018 remastered and imported album sounds. It is hands-down the best sounding vinyl album I have including both vintage and reissued. I'm usually hesitant to buy reissued vinyl because they are often mastered from CDs which makes it sound worse. Not sure the source of this master but it sounds awesome! Played on Denon DP-450 with Ortofon 2M Bronze cartridge through Denon AVR-X6700H.

Fantastic vinyl pressing quality.
The 2018 remaster vinyl pressing is really impressive. Parlophone recordings tend to be great in general and they take a lot of care with their vinyl (unlike say Rhino with the terrible Depeche Mode reissue quality). I've always been a fan of this era of Pet Shop Boys, and Introspective ranks among my very favorites. Its one of those albums I owned on cassette back in the day then later on CD and finally now on vinyl. Knowing every note, beat, and blip by heart, you can imagine how I would scrutinize this recording. Not only does it not disappoint, rather it actually sounds better than I ever remembered. If you like the music, highly recommended.

Just buy it
Well, what can I say? It's a vinyl record of songs we've all heard before. You're either buying this album cuz you're a clueless hipster or cuz you really appreciate the fact that it's one of the best albums from the 80s. Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's the best the Pet Shop Boys have to offer. Please, do humanity a favor and continue buying vinyl records. Thank you.

2018 reissues vinyl & Fl cd review
I am very pleased with this vinyl sounds great & the Fl cd is very nice one more batch to go and my psb studio & Fl CDs collection will be complete ❤️

A Pet Shop Boys classic!
This is definitively one of my favorite Pet Shop Boys album. The disco sound in the mixes is amazing. It includes 6 Pet Shop Boys classics in extended remixes. The sound is very good in this remastered version but I think the original record sound more powerful.

Pet Shop Boys nos entregaron en su album Introspective el que es, para muchos, el mejor álbum de la banda… y sin ponerlo a discusión como uno de los mejores discos de TODA la década de los 80s. Comprado por razones nostálgicas y memorias de la infancia, terminé por escribir esta reseña por la calidad en el audio del LP, la prensa impecable y la reproducción de la funda laminada… espectacular de todo a todo.
