Mine didn’t work. I had to send it back. It wouldn’t retract once it was opened. I followed the instructions, and even tried oiling it. We tried pushing straight down, banging it straight down, etc. I took it outside and used a scrap of wood so I could bang harder without damaging flooring or furniture and still it wouldn’t budge. My husband eventually had to resort to using a rubber mallet just so we could fit it back in the box so I could return it. Also the stitching on the holster arrived broken.

Sturdy construction but almost impossible to retract

works perfect, if you can't retract it, just let it drop from about 4 feet to the ground.
