Birds like it, but hard to find peanut hearts at local stores.
The biggest problem I've had with this bird feeder is that I could never find peanut hearts for it and was forced to use other types of bird seed. After two years of use, I finally found a local source of peanut hearts. One challenge with this feeder is that a lot feed (even peanut hearts) falls through the wire mesh when filling it. My solution has been to put the feeder in a plastic shopping bag while filling it so that I can salvage the feed that falls out and pour it back in the feed bag. After two years of use, the finish on the metal doesn't look as sharp as it originally did, but it has held up better than the metal finish on other bird feeders I've had. It is definitely more durable than plastic tube feeders I've used.

Durability, strong made with steel wire. The squirels can't tear it apart, and it looks great too.

Nuthatches, woodpeckers, titmice, chickadees give it a claws-up
Oh, and the squirrels, too, which fit snugly under the spiral but can't get much out through the mesh. Trying out this device on your hanger pole -- Stokes Select 18" Wrap-Around Squirrel Baffle.
