Superb textbook
I'm using this book to teach myself the subject and I keep being struck by the clarity of the writing and of the way the book is structured. Every new idea is introduced carefully and illustrated with a worked example. This book is an example of *really* good, old-fashioned pedagogy.

Excellent introductory book on logic
This book is ideal for self-study. Like many other books in the Schaum's Outlines for Mathematics series, it is excellent in terms of clarity of exposition without sacrificing content, scope or rigour. I have read many other books of introductory nature on the topic of logic and it is fair to say that this book has nothing to envy. It covers aptly the topics of propositional and predicate logic, with many examples and solved exercises. It also has sections on inductive logic and further developments. At the price available it is also excellent value.

The logic choice!!
This book is ideal for self study; concise, informative and easy to read. The numerous examples which build on each other add to its functionality. Having read this book i would more than recommend it to anyone wanting to either learn, brush up on or requiring a referance document for logic. Invaluable.

Wasn't too keen on this book
I bought this book for my university Logic module for Philosophy, but I was a bit disappointed. I found the book confusing and didn't think it explained everything clearly enough. I like the way the book is set out, and I like that it has questions in so you can practice each section as you go along - the only problem with this, I find, is that it doesn't give a complete set of answers for these problems, but only a select few, so if like me you do the problems then check if you got them right, you have no way of knowing.Overall the book was okay, but could have been better.

Amazing for Logic Recap/Training
I had to study my Logic course on my own because I didn’t do anything during the semester. One week with this book including amazing explanations and examples and you can easily pass your exam well.It also sparked a lot of interest in Logic - super interesting topic. Really regret not going to the lectures in retrospect.

Logic is an infinitely useful and fascinating though dry subject
For value, this book is difficult to beat. Few logic books on the market provide so much content for the cost, with plenty of exercises to practice. This was the first Logic book I ever used and I had no trouble being sufficiently motivated to complete the entire book; exercises and all. Logic is an infinitely useful and fascinating though dry subject. Unfortunately this is where this book fails. Many other authors provide interesting examples to help make the subject feel less dry. The Schaum's book makes very little attempt to provide interesting examples or exercises. On the other hand, the Natural Deductive system presented in this book (first introduced by Frederic Fitch) is vastly superior to the Gentzen system introduced in most other logic texts. This is because the Fitch system has the same structure as an argument as one would present it in English prose; while the Gentzen system is nothing like how anyone thinks. This correspondence makes it far easier to apply the logic system in this book back to real world arguments.

Nice review book for those that are self learners
Good book for self learners. I took Logic over 30 years ago and I wanted to re teach myself. A text book is just too long for me to work with because of time constraints and since I had an idea of the topic i just needed to work out problems seeing the steps. I am the type of person that learns math by seeing the sets and rather than reading about it. So its a great book for people that learn by doing and wanting to see the steps.

No defrauda, es Schaum
Como producto Schaum que es, no defrauda. Se puede acompañar de "An illustrated book of bad arguments". Tan real como la vida misma.
