Let's talk about my lucky bamboo – seven years of stagnant existence. Then, I introduce this mystical product into the mix. August sneaks in, and suddenly, my bamboo is like a whole new plant. It's as if it got a serious dose of plant steroids, with new leaves sprouting up like confetti.I'm no botanical expert, but I'm waving the flag high for this product. I read through the instructions on back and didn't feel good about it. I don't like recurring cost maintenance for anything, so I like to experiment with how often replacements really are needed for some things. In this case, I only put in one spike for my plants, and I will likely not replace them as often as recommended. Even so, I noticed a quick improvement in growth and overall appearance within days, despite using less than it called for.

I swear by these plant food spikes!!! The package says they are for indoor plants, but I actually use them for all of my outdoor plants, especially my herbs. I first tried these after planting some basil and other herbs that seemed to be taking an eternity to grow. I went to a local home improvement store and searched the garden center for plant food but many of them were priced much higher than I was willing to spend until I found these spikes. I figured I'd give them a try since they were so inexpensive and wow!!!!! Within just a few days, my plants had grown more than double what they had grown in the previous several weeks!! One of my friends (who also enjoys gardening) came over to my house and was in awe of how big and healthy all of my herbs were. When I told her about these spikes, she went straight from my house to purchase some and had the exact same growth results.I now keep at least one extra pack of these on hand stored in a ziplock bag to protect from any water/weather damage, and I add new spikes about once every 6-8wks to my plants. I now use these "plant steroid sticks" (as my boyfriends refers to them as) in all of my plants -- they worked great in my tomato plants this summer, too! These spikes are a must for anyone wanted big, beautiful healthy plants!!!**UPDATE - 4/20/16**I am still using these spikes and LOVING them! I wanted to post a picture showing exactly how incredible these spikes are. On Monday (4/18), I took a picture of some mint to show my boyfriend that had somehow managed to stay alive through the entire Erie, PA winter in our garage (with no light, water, care, etc -- just sat in the planter), because I couldn't believe that they were still alive. I was really excited and added a few new spikes to the planter hoping that the little buds would eventually keep growing around the new mint plant (which is in the center of the planter in the picture). The NEXT DAY (4/19), I went back outside to continue working on the beginnings of this season's garden and was COMPLETELY SHOCKED at how much the little buds had grown in less than 24hrs. I still had the picture on my phone from Monday, so I took a second picture to show a side-by-side comparison. :) :) :)

Great plant food and it's good that it's in a stick just place one in the soil and it feeds the Plant.

I am not very good at fertilizing my house plants because many fertilizers either smell bad or attract bugs. I am glad I tried these plant food spikes. Not long after I put one in my hoya plant, did this old friend who had not grown in months start producing new growths.I am glad that these spikes don't smell much. At least I am not able to find any unpleasant odor. And it is so convenient to use. Simply stick them in the soil and water as usual.
