Could you technically print one side, and throw the card back in the hopper upside down to print on the other side?

Fargo does not recommend that as you could damage your printhead in doing so.

Can we print bar code with this model ?

Yes you can. You would need to use a software program that is capable of generating the bar-code, but the printer itself is ready out-of-the-box.
