Will buy again
I cant comment much on the speakers I heard them once for the hell of it when I first set it up and remembered they were great but then I hooked it up to my sound bar as its been since. Picture is great, used for console gameing and Netflix and hulu and such. Love that i don't need to switch input back and forth from my fire stick go my games and switch tv remote to fire stick remote. Just honestly makes the whole process so simple. Very easy to use. Wish it would let me hide some of the things I don't use but I get some of its advertising and what not, that being said they arwnt obnoxious with it and the things you use are prioritized. I only got this to replace my old 50" Westinghouse that i had for like 4 years that crapped out on me, I wasnt sure at first but the picture seemed a little crisper and it being a fire tv for this cheap was just a huge bonus. I mean i was seeing much smaller smart tvs for much higher prices when i was shopping around. Over all great value for a fantastic price. Atleast when I got mine it was right around $200 I recently went to get another for my grandmother and it had gone up quite a bit the last few months so I'm hoping it goes back down atleast a little before I find a different one.

Great T.V. Works with my Amazon Tap
I received this 55" Insignia Fire TV for Christmas from my sons. They set it up and there were no problems. The legs went on without any trouble and it connected to my Verizon Fios. I put in my Prime account information and Prime videos and my watch list appeared. Downloaded the apps that I wanted like Netflix, HuLu, HBOgo, and some new ones. I used the Fire remote to ask Alexa to turn Netflix on and it came on. The remote only works for streaming. I connected my Amazon Tap to the tv and and asked my Alexa Tap to turn on a show that I was watching and there it was. I arranged all of the apps in the order that I wanted.I don't know why there are bad reviews stating that you can't watch cable. You can ! The home screen has a box that says cable. You click on that and voila, you have cable. You need to use your cable remote to change channels, which makes sense because you are not streaming. No big deal. If you ever used Roku, you used the Roku remote to stream and you tv's remote for cable. The tv has a great picture, sound is excellent, I was able to get closed captioning on the streaming and cable shows. The Fire remote did everything that it is supposed to do.I don't understand the negative reviews. If anything negative happens later, I will update.

The price seemed great, did not end that way
My mother's TV gave out so I tried finding something at a decent price. Saw the Insignia FireTV edition and thought it would be great for Amazon & Netflix (as well as regular TV). What made the price even better was the 50" screen size and the fact it was touted as 4K.I signed up for Netflix 4K and tried to stream Amazon Movies in 4K but couldn't see any difference (still not sure if the jump from 1080p to 4K is supposed to be easily noticeable). Nor could I find any menu setting to turn it on. It wasn't a real issue to me as the picture quality was still very good. Then came an issue. I get that this is a smart TV and that promoting FireTV is the main thing, but I don't understand why every time the TV was turned on you had to manually select Input1/HDMI. My mother is not tech savvy and is still learning all of this stuff. She's not comfortable giving Alexa instructions on the remote, and gets flustered with too many button presses. She just needed to have the TV turn on and already be on HDMI 1 for the cablebox, but instead was always on main menu. Because of that we traded TVs and I used it just fine despite that. The TV was purchased in April of 2019. 4 Days ago I left the TV on while watching the news, and woke up to 95% of the screen dimmed out to near black while slowly blinking in and out. Essentially the TV is useless and we didn't buy an extended warranty. I don't know what happened, or if it's even worth trying to fix (or even where to take it to).The fact that the first input couldn't be set as the default when turning on would have been enough for me to knock the rating down by at least one star. The fact that after only 1 year it's essentially dead knocks it down to one star.

Great TV Choice!
I've only had this TV for a few hours and it is amazing! The quality is great, the features are cool, the dictation is great too. I'd have to say my two favorite features is1. You can get the remote on your phone and it works just as fast and with all the same functionalities as the real remote, and extras to help you move around faster.2. You can connect bluetooth headphones! I've been waiting to come a cross a tv with this type of capability. Usually I would stream content through my PS4 and with having a roommate and being mindful in our dorm, Id have to have a wired headphone attached to the controller and carry that around the room. I have Bose QC 35s and it connects right to the tv and is flawless.Definitely recommend if you're looking for a TV, this is the one to upgrade too and even would be worth the extra 30 for the additional 5 inches of screen.
