Breaking Bad: Season 05 (Episode 1-8)

Flaws in Breaking Bad
Yes, I am a fan of Breaking Bad, however, there are major flaws in the story that just have to be addressed. Here are a few:l. Walt Jr. is far too cooperative for a 16 year old boy. When asked to do chores, he always says, "Sure, Mom!" like he is soooo happy. Most 16 year olds are sassy, self-centered, sleep all day-up all night, talk back, spend 99% of time with friends, NEVER do housework, and more. His grades would tank, too, if his dad was as much trouble as Walt Senior.2. Jesse's teeth are too perfect. A heavy meth user's teeth ground away with the constant use and gums are red, bloody, soft. Other users on the show have bad teeth, but not Jesse. NOT believeable.3. There is hardly any mention of DNA. At all murder scenes in which Walt just walks away, his DNA would be everywhere. BOTH their DNA and fingerprints were all over Uncle Tio's house--case over.4. At Tio's when Tuko throws Jesse and Walt's phones into the back yard, police would have found them, found their fingerprints and case over. Law enforcement searches at least one mile radius of a crime scene--inch by inch.5. Jesse is not that attractive that super hot chicks would be after him. The actresses chosen to play his love interests are way too pretty for a guy who is a big loser. They are also too tall and too big for him. He seems overpowered by them.6. The theft of lab equipment would have been noticed. Other teachers would have complained that things were missing. Schools keep up with stuff better than that. Each teacher uses the equipment, so someone would have noticed. There is always a bitchy person on the staff who keeps up with stuff right down to pencils and erasers.7. No one ever seems to be looking out a window to see murders and kidnappings. Just not realistic.8. Mike would have immediately killed Walt when Walt killed Gus. Mike would know he had to get to Walt before Walt got to him.9. Killing 9 in prisons? Come on!! Prisons have cameras everywhere. Someone would have seen something. NOT believeable.10. When Hank was driving by the laundry, he would have seen Walt's car. We cannot believe that a skilled detective would rely on one person to drive him by that place only one time. He would have driven by at all hours of the day and night.11. Walt would have spent his money all along for basic household needs. They were barely getting by, so he would have been buying groceries, new shoes for Walt, Jr., baby clothes, gas, etc. He would have always had a pocket full of cash, to make Skyler's life smoother. She would have liked that and he could have eased her along better.12. Why did Walt make a pass at the principal? Does not make sense for him, logically. We are to believe he does all things out of logic. This would only harm him.13. We are told over and over how he does this for his family. All right-----we get it. You do not have to remind us....enough already.14. Jesse throwing money away would not happen. He would be doing his best to show that he is a winner to his parents. He would have been buying things for his parents, sending his mom flowers on all occasions, and spending the cash on the girlfriends for diamonds, clothes, etc.15. Jesse would not drive a beat up car. He would have a Lexus or Mercedes. All drug dealers drive the best cars in town. The local car dealers rely on them to spend their cash and everyone turns a blind eye.16. Someone with the DEA would be on Walt and Jesse's side. The money is just too much of a temptation. They could have paid off their own informant.17. Jesse and Walt's DNA would be in the UHaul Truck that did the magnet thing. The magnets would get traced back to the junk yard and case closed.18. All junk yards have to give account for cars that are smashed. Even though they got rid of the RV, there would be enough left for DNA, even fingerprints. Case closed at that point.19. Someone would notice that Walt was visiting Jesse in the hospital. Case closed.20. The mask found in the desert would have had fingerprints or DNA from Walt. Case closed. It did lead them back to the school. DEA would have put in cameras and found Walt stealing more property. Most schools have cameras inside anyway. Case closed.21. Once Walt gets all that money, women would be after him.22. There are not enough female characters in this show. Women are always around where money is being made. Walt would have been tempted with plenty of 15 to 20 year olds. Hot chicks can sniff out cash.23. Walt would have been using cough drops with all that coughing.24. There is a mouth wash that cancer doctors prescribe for lung patients because of the dry mouth and odors. Walt would constantly be using mouthwash and cough drops.25. NO one with lung disease can run up and down steps. He would be on oxygen therapy with the air tanks needed at all times. Uncle Tio has them and he is sitting. Walt would not be that active with real lung cancer. Lungs determine all movement of the body. He would not be able to move like he does. Even driving a car is difficult with lung cancer and chemo.26. Nothing is said about the raids on Gus's delivery trucks. Law enforcement would have been involved, this would lead to Gus; case over.27. Ted would not be all goo goo over a 40 year old pregnant woman. He would have a long line of 20 year olds in his bed.28. Once Skylar found problems with Ted's books, he would have fired her. Men do not like bad news.29. They can pay $800,000 cash for a car wash with no questions asked????? How is that money laundering????30. Walt would have been traveling to the Caymen islands or other sites that will launder money for him. He could afford to hire a private plane.31. Walt would have an alternate plan of escape. With 80 million he would have many options.32. He would have been sending the family on long vacations, as in Europe or Australia. People with new money travel. He would keep them out of town and out of his way and out of harm.33. Most people who live in the West do speak Spanish. A person with Walt's intelligence would pick it up easily.34. Walt would buy diamonds and expensive shoes for Skylar. Woman can be bought off. Logically, he would appeal to her ego. As Ron White says, "Diamonds, that will shut her up."35. The baby does not seem to grow very fast. Most children will not fit into a bassinet at age 6 to 9 months. Is that a real baby? Looks fake. Why is it always wearing a hat? In New Mexicto with heat in the 100's to 110's?36. Skylar would have followed Walt to the laundry. case closed.37. Friends of Crazy 8 would have gone to see Jesse as he was last seen with him. Why was his family never shown as interested in his disappearance. Too many people disappear with no one seeming to care. Not realistic.38. The police are portrayed as bunbling fools. Not so. They are generally very thorough. Not believeable that no police officer can put two and two together.39. There would have been a police report filed when Walt crashed the new car he bought for Walt Jr. No one gets away with that kind of damage without someone noticing. case closed40. Hank has plenty of chances to bug Walt's home or car. He would have in order to find out the truth, then, he could have built his case.41. Gus's operation was way to big for him to rely on one person to cook. He would have had cooks all over the place. He could have set up labs in his trucks. He was too smart to put all his eggs in one basket.42. Tio would not pee in a pool in front of the Don--never happen. Pee on flowers or people, but not the pool where gals are gonna be swimming.43. Walt Jr. never changes. A kid at age 16 changes in many ways. His hair style is not modern. His clothes are like circa 1995.44. Jesse's shirts never get dirty. The white stays the whitest. He sleeps in clothes, but they do not wrinkle and he does not smell. Not believeable.45. Hospitals film all visitors. Hank would have reviewed the tapes to see who was visiting Jesse. case closed46. All in all, too many things just are not believeable. Police are not that bad at their jobs and criminals are not that lucky.

Riveting and Realistic!
Being a recovering meth addict myself(Coming up on a decade of sobriety thanks to the compassion and professional help I received from several gifted professionals.) I can vouch for the very accurate portrayal of todays street drug scene this show presents us. The dynamics of the relationships between Mr. White aka: "Heisenberg" and a very hip smooth talking JesDoctersie who has to fight the daily temptation of relapsing.) and Mike a senior citizen hitman who takes Jessie under his wing makes up for a extremely captivating show. The last season's finale episode shows Skyler asking Walt to come with her, they end up in a storage yard where she had rented a XXL storage unit unbeknownst to anybody because there was no more room under the house! She suddenly yanks the tarp off a huge pile the size of a Honda civic revealing a huge mountain of thousands of stacked 100$ bills (each banded with a tag denominating 10.000$ each!) They both stare at it dumbfounded, and Walt asks: "What does all that amount to?" Skyler shakes her head and replies: "I have no earthly idea!" What a classic scene!!!!! My mouth watered at the thought of even being close to that much money in reality! She also claims: " I tried counting it but it was coming in faster than she could count, even using those cool machines that shuffle hundred dollar bills in a blur and spits them out banded in 10.000$ bricks! "Then I tried weighing them because any US bill regardless of denomination weighs exactly 1 gram (Nice factoid!) but I couldn't find a scale big enough to fit this monster on!" Another classic line! And that is pretty much how the whole show goes, guns, mexican cartel, blue ice crystal meth/99.8% pure which is unheard of. (In reality, you're lucky if you can find anything purer than 80% and bathtub meth-cooks are all amateurs that end up using chemicals that are highly poisonous, which is why that shit tears you up in less than a decade! Google: "Faces of Meth" and try not to puke!!)There can be only one logical ending to this show: either Walt cancer comes back just when he finally decides to pull the plug and retire in luxury. Or Hank (his stereotypical gung-ho D.E.A brother-in-law>) finally puts all the clues together and ends up shooting him or locking him up forever. One thing's for sure, Bryan Cranston absolutely nails his character to a "T"! A mild mannered high school chemistry teacher who transforms into a ruthless drug kingpin and becomes the legendary "Heisenberg" !!!!! I could not wait for AMC to play season 5, I ended up buying the whole season in one shot and it was the best money/"fun-factor" return I ever made. I'm praying they film another season! If not, that would be like "coitus interruptus!!" Definitely a 5 star plus, unless you have been living in a cave the last century and don't have a clue about our ever growing drug culture, and the governmental farce known as the D.E.A !!! (Didn't it occur to the powers to be to look back at our own history and recall what a monumental disaster the Prohibition ended up being, not to mention it gave us those lovable characters such as Al Capone, John Dillinger, Baby face Nelson and the rise of the Mafia which is still alive and well, running everything right under our noses. You can be sure the government gets their cut as well!! Actually, the characters of Mr. White and the circle of scumbags he deals with, actually look quite mild mannered compared to the elected politicians who blatantly stuff thier pockets with our tax money at the same time they spew out empty promises and point fingers at the everybody but themselves!!! But, I digress...This is one hell of a show and I highly recommend trying to start from the very first episode to get the full impact of Walt's "Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde" transformation!!!!!!peace out, [email protected]

Voted best TV drama ever - can't argue with that
If you've never seen this, you're really missing out. Strong language, drug & alcohol abuse, and violence from start to finish but beautifully filmed, great drama (and dark humour) and the perfect soundtrack (I'm a fan of 70's hard rock but the 21st century music chosen for specific scenes has opened my ears). Watch on BluRay with 5.1 surround sound turned up and you'll feel like you're in every scene with them. Many, many scenes (especially the cliff-hangers) take your breath away. The extras on most of the discs are great, too, although the sound and pictures of these are 2nd-rate. The menus could have been better, too, but overall, the best drama I've ever seen. Better than The Bridge and The Killing, which are excellent, too.Final tip is that when watching them, on the later discs, you can start to watch the next episode (for a second or two) and then pause it. If you then turn off your BluRay and go to bed, you can pick up there the next day without having to go through all the menus. Don't know if this is a later development and if it's now a standard but I found it very useful.Anyway, just buy the whole series now and watch it over the winter (we're now watching it now for the second time and it's still as good as the first time).

Still haven’t opened it to this day but I absolutely love the cover arts on them!
I bought this dvd box set of breaking bad because I just really wanted to have it in my collection and I’m happy I did because the cover art for it is very cool and I like it a lot!Of course, it’s all on Netflix to watch right now, but I just really wanted to have the DVDs of it too just to complete my collection!I would recommend if you’re a fan of DVDS or Breaking Bad!

Just perfect
Buy it, watch it and you'll never regret it. This series is probably the best as things are moving towards the conclusion and you'll be totally gripped. The only reason the very last season isnt quiet as good as Season 5 is because it ends!! Breaking Bad could have went on for 10 seasons and everyone would have been delighted as everyone seems to love Breaking Bad and for good reason. Its the most perfectly paced show ive ever seen. Every single character is interesting and has real depth with some performances as good as if not better than the best actors you've ever seen. Its so good you'll feel like you're a voyeur of the real lives of people who seem to be slipping further and further down the spiral rather than just watching a tv show. You could very happily spend a entire evening watching this show back to back because nothing beats this. To give you some examples, im a fan of Lost (first 2 seasons only!), Sopranos (i thought nothing would top it), Hannibal (incredible series so far.........), Dexter and films such as Heat, Goodfella's etc. so I know my american dramas/thrillers. This has raised the bar and its a testament to the current standard of British TV that it was never picked up and shown (I believe Channel 5 showed the first couple of series then it was dropped years ago?). BBC/ITV would rather show 'more' cookery, DIY, house buying programmes...........Do yourself a favour and buy the best programme ever made.

Heisenberg takes over
We knew it was all coming to this. Over 8 episodes in this first part of season 5, we see the total transformation of Walter White to a ruthless relentless drug kingpin, taking even more dangerous risks to keep his product on top of the market. After the thrilling season 4 finale, with his main enemy out of the way, Walter White can focus on expanding his empire and ensuring he stays on top. He recruits Jesse and Mike and over the course of season 5 they embark on a series of dangerous adventures to keep their secrets hidden, Walter White especially, including destroying evidence in a police station, pulling off a clever train heist, and attempting to make a deal that would make an extraordinary amount of money for all three of them. No spoilers but keeping all of these secrets hidden, including events from past series, is becoming even more difficult for Walter and something has to give. Does it happen? You'll have to get this series to find out, and with the final 8 episodes airing in under a month in America, it won't take too long for them to come to Netflix so we can see how it all ends for Walter White. My guess? In episode 1, the intro is a flash forward to his 52nd birthday, my feeling is that will form the basis of the ending of the whole series, even if it just comes down to the final 10 minutes of the 16th and final episode.

Product description lacking in clarity
The description of the product is, in my view, misleading. I purchased it thinking that it was all of Season 5. However, it is not. I did not read the small print and the reviews in sufficient detail. Amazon.co.uk needs to dramatically improve the clarity of the description of this product. Very disappointing. The content of the DVDs are fine but I got only half the content that I expected.
