I have to take a minimum of 100mg a day. Some days I need to take 150-200mg a day so I like this strength. I have found a cheaper brand that I will try in order to save money. If it doesn’t work for me I will go back to this brand. I have to take the P5P version of B6 in order to be able to absorb the vitamin. These are small capsules so they are easy to swallow. This was recommended by my neurologist to use for 3 months during a seizure medication change. It helps tremendously for the anxiety side effect of the new seizure medication. I plan to take it permanently. It really helps with mood!

I bought this to take along with other supplements that I use for enhancing my workouts. I take P5P with L-tyrosine, L-theanine, Taurine and branched chain amino acids before my workouts. I notice a significant difference when taking my supplements before working out, and I notice even more of a difference when I take P5P instead of vitamin B6.Vitamin B6 is necessary for cell utilization of nutrients (especially amino acids). P5P is the reduced form of B6, it does not require any dietary cofactors to be used by the body. This makes it more useful when you take it on an empty stomach, which I do, because amino acid supplements are best taken on an empty stomach.Specific to this product: Pure Encapsulations is a premium brand. Hence the premium price. But in my book, its worth it. The products are really high quality; I take a Pure multivitamin, recommended by my naturopath, and the ingredients are superior to any other that I've had. This P5P is high potency, high dose, and high purity. You can tell because the capsules are so small- there isn't very much filler. The shipping was reasonable and the bottle was in fine shape when I received it, didn't look tampered with or damaged (which is important when buying medications and supplements online)

Great supplement for those suffering from B6 deficiency, especially due to pyroluria. I immediately felt more alert after taking this (within 15 minutes). I've been having trouble with short-term memory and this seems to be helping. I am hoping it improves my energy as well. I also remembered my dreams for the first time in years (another potential symptom of pyroluria). However, I think 50 mg is too much for me to take at once. I get a sharp pain in my stomach within minutes and then stomach problems for another hour or so. 25 mg once or twice a day might be better for me. If you have a sensitive stomach, beware. Definitely take it with a meal and consider a smaller dose if you have side effects.. And from another family member's experience, some people cannot tolerate a lot of P5P, even when they need it. In that case, start low and go slow.

I like this version of b6 better because of the absorption. I take one every day and I think it helps to balance the water retention. It's also easy to swallow. I buy another brand now that works well and is cheaper.
