You'll like the weight of this lamp and the strength and straightness of the pole. This is the heaviest duty torchiere I've bought since the old halogen ones I bought in the 90's (one of which is still going strong, by the way!). I have not made use of the dimmer function much, but it works well and will be nice to have when I do need it. I really like the weight of this lamp. It's not feeble and crooked like the torchieres you find at tar-jay and places like that. It puts out a good amount of light on high - I have a dimming LED bulb in it right now. I plan to buy another of these lamps soon.

This lamp had really wonderful reviews on the lamp plus website. I ended up purchasing through Amazon for added ease but I could not be more thrilled. I searched for a few hours for the best torchiere lamp. I wanted a solid base with a thicker pole without having to pay hundreds of dollars. I finally chose this one because I could clearly tell it had a thicker base and pole as compared to pictures of other lamps and it wasn't $500 like some of the thicker base and poles I'd been seeing. This met ALL my expectations. It was packaged well, insanely easy to assemble, and is incredibly user friendly and sturdy. It is something I expect to last a long time, which is why I wanted to invest in a sturdier lamp. I bought two and they light the room incredibly well. I couldn't be any happier! I got all the luxury and quality for a fraction of the price. Some people mentioned being bothered that it wasn't a glass halo instead of acrylic, but I personally don't mind. I feel safer knowing it's plastic in case it ever would tip.***Update, 07/04/2024:Replaced with same item in 2024 due to the switch stopped working to turn on and off and now would give a 1. The lamp no longer turns on and off entirely on its own but is rather a dim switch that constantly keeps the lamp on. For the price, this is very dissatisfactory that it doesn't have a normal switch to begin with and even more frustrating when the slider no longer works like a normal on and off button. We will be keeping for now due to the hassle of boxing it again but I do not recommend this product at all and we won't be purchasing again after this lamp goes out.

This lamp looks as depicted. It is tall and gives good illumination throughout the area. I am pleased with the sturdiness and style. I think it’s a good buy.

its ok. i thought it would look a lot bette than a regular torch u would get at target or something since its 100. but it was ok... one good thing was that the post was nice and thick and seems sturdy but nothing to write home about. the light it gives off is ok too. not as bright as i thought it would be.

Good looking; easy to assemble; good light with 150 watt CFL bulb.

I'm pleased about this torchiere. It feels solid. It looks good. It works well, and it's not all that expensive. So - yes! Good buy, I'd say.

Arrived promptly with no damage. The floor lamp is sturdy, looks great and provides the type of light I want.

The lamp looked great, but unfortunately broke after a few months.Got a replacement, which worked for over half a year. Also broke in the same way - the lamp is stuck in a permanently on state. At this point the bulb burns out.Don’t recommend this product, unless you plan to buy a new one every 6 months.
