Such beyond beautiful and lyrical writing. Pure poetry. There is nobody like Plath.

An excellent book that Plath divulges her thoughts on a variety of topics. Very readable - some of the recordings are only a few lines in length. The sellers description, cost and excellent delivery time made this a positive purchasing experience.

There's about 674 pages of journal to read and I'm so excited to read every single page. If you liked The Bell Jar this is absolutely for you! It's very well written, very insightful, dark and funny. The footnotes would be better off being numbered but that's my only criticism.

Added to all the other reading I've done about someone who had a need for the inner conflict that brings forth the artist; and, not necessarily, happiness. A self-absorbed personality, but she stuck with her demons as best she could.

Easy to read and enjoyable.

I'm only on page 43. And I feel compelled to write a review. This has almost instantly become my favourite book. Plath is so profound, so wise and insightful. "I have much to live for, yet unaccountably I am sick and sad." It is printed as close to the way it was written as possible, with an index of notes you can skip or look at as you go through. If you thought anything at all of The Bell Jar, you will not be disappointed with this.

So we'll written and lucid. Please take time to read this. I felt unsure whether I should read these personal journals but it feels written for this exact purpose. Truly special.

Pretty, but came with minor defects. The book also doesnt seem very strong, since it bends very easily in places it shouldn't. Can't wait to read it though!

An indispensable companion to her poetry, her bell-jar writ large, and the two volumes of her letters. How we wish that the phantom journal could come to life!
