Amon - Apocalypse Of Devilman

The demons have started to run amok, and are no-longer a secret; nobody is sure who they can trust anymore. As the city stands on the brink of anarchy, our demonic hero must face his greatest challenge yet, but in the process he might lose everything he loves as well.In the review I linked to above, I had made the point that there is a strong gay undercurrent to the Devilman franchise, and things just about reach their homoerotic zenith in this instalment. It would appear that Akira and Ryo have "broken up", and this entire movie can be seen as centring around Akira's ambivalence over his gay desires. He's caught between his scorned lover -Ryo- and the fading hope of a heterosexual lifestyle -represented by Miki. It's hard not to see some symbolism in Akira's literal battle with an inner demon who scornfully mocks him for showing love for a mere woman... Or am I just reading too much into everything?Anyhow, this final entry into the series is by far the most dark, violent and gruesome. If you're squeamish then please don't watch this movie. If, on the other hand, you enjoyed the previous entries in the series and are a fan of dark and nasty animes then this one comes with my hearty recommendation. It isn't as good as the previous two movies, but it's still pretty damned entertaining in its own right.Oh, and this movie includes a scene in which one demon throws a train at an enemy, which sends him hurtling straight through a skyscraper. That alone should tell you that this movie is worth a watch.

Non è al 100% lo stile go nagai... Ma che devo dire questo terzo oav di devilman a me piace. I combattimenti sono spettacolari ed anche la qualità dei disegni è molto alta.L'audio è veramente ottimo ... Raro sentire dvd cosi bene , stesso livello della platinum di evangelion... Ed ho un discreto impianto home cinema dove se l'audio non è buono ... Ai sente.Unico appello ... Perche non fate una riedizione in dvd o meglio blu ray dei primi 2 oav che si trovano solo in vhs ??? Ma lo capite che per capolavori come devilman la gente i soldi ce li spende !

Cercavo da tempo questo cartone, ma lo trovavo solo in giapponese. Questo è in italiano sia per audio che per sottotitoli.Avviso a chi volesse acquistare questo DVD...è di una violenza inaudita e senza censure !!!La storia è un po incasinata e la consiglio solo ai veri conoscitori di devilman

Ovvero, come chiudere una trilogia alla bene e meglio. Eh già, questo sembra essere un sunto del manga (con relative modifiche) con lo scopo di chiudere la trilogia OAV formata da "Devilman: La Genesi" e "Devilman: L'Arpia Silen", editi in VHS da Yamato Video negli anni ' 90. Come tardo episodio terzo delude, troppo sintetico, forse andava fatta un pentalogia... comunque per chi si accontenta... Solo per irriducibili Nagaiani.

Il fatto è che di questi one-shot "ibridi" ispirati a più di un manga nagaiano potremmo farne anche a meno.Tutti i fans di Nagai e non avrebbero sicuramente preferito una continuazione degli OAV classici, o quantomeno qualcosa di più approfondito di un banale one-shot da 45 minuti che porta il nome di Devilman solo per motivi di business.E Nagai in animazione fa troppo spesso di questi "errori", negli anni più recenti.Potrebbe fare molto di più, ma si limita al minimo indispensabile. Tanto è consapevole che ci sono i soliti fedelissimi pronti a sbavare qualsiasi cosa produca, ed evidentemente tanto gli basta.Ovviamente, secondo me.

il capitolo che chiude la saga di tre OAV incentrata sul demone guerriero Devilman, questo è l'episodio più splatter e violento. Ottimo il livello dell'animazione e buona la qualità del DVD.
