A new Diana Krall we see in this CD. I had this album in my cart for a long time . Later I realised I should have bought it at the earliest. Good selection of songs and she manages to infuse her classic seductive silkiness into each song. A must buy.

Great Album
Diana Krall is a class act. I had the pleasure of seeing her live around 2002 and she gave a spine tingling peformance. Her intimate rendition of Joni Mitchell's "A Case Of You" reduced me to tears. I'm a big fan. This album follows the well trodden path- subtle understated performances, those whispered vocals that enrapture. A first class selection of songs. Terrific performances from all involved and excellent sound quality. The guest vocalists are fine but not essential. If you're a fan then you know what to expect. Class!

Wallflower...Never
I have always been a fan of Diana. I was a little bit surprised that her interpretation of contemporary pop music might fall flat. This is not the case though. The album is fine and her interpretation of the Mamas n Pappas 60's hit "California Dreaming " is superb. Really lovely to listen to and so is the song " Im Not in Love".Really enjoyed this album.

It's so good for bears.
After he threw his Jackson Browne records in a canal near Bolsover last Whitsun, I put on this Diana Krall long playing record to calm my pet bear, Bilkston. "Frabjous joy' exclaimed my headstrong furry ward as he danced carelessly through the languid night. I have previously sought to sooth him with a promised hovercraft trip and cocoa solids but only Wallflower has appeased the little chap. I say to you, it must be good. That it is, says Bilkston. If you own a gramophone and an uncompromising bear, then treat it, and yourself, to a moment of divine reverie.

Diana does it again
As usual, Diana Krall's inimitable, velvet voice, streams a new slew of wonderful songs on this album. There are some lovely duets, in particular, "If I take you home tonight" with Paul McCartney, and she offers a great new interpretation of 'California Dreaming' and the title song, Dylan's 'Wallflower'. Her version of 'I'm not in love' and 'Desperado' are wonderful. Perhaps the most interesting track is her version of Gilbert O'Sullivan's 'Alone again, naturally': sung slowly and lovingly the song takes on a totally new meaning.Diana Krall has to be the greatest jazz song interpreter since Ella Fitzgerald. S'Wonderful!

I'm glad to see the balance of the reviews posted is clearly positive. Many of the negative reviews criticise the album for what it is not; namely, DK singing jazz standards. It is always easy to criticise something for what it is not. It takes a bit more effort to adjust one's perception and to appreciate something for what it is. What I hear on this album is DK using her voice and her sensibilities to give us a really lovely reinterpretation of some popular songs. For me, "In my life", a great Beatles song, is here given one of the best renderings ever. So, if you want to hear DK sing jazz standards, don't buy this album. But, if you are willing to open your mind to the possibility that DK can give many different songs new life through her interpretation, listen, and, buy it. You won't be disappointed. Those of you who don't like it, are entitled to your opinions too, of course. But you might ask yourselves where do the walls you see between jazz and other songs exist? In reality, or in your mind? Might you have something to gain by opening your mind to something different? Personally, I love DK singing standards, and I love her interpretation of these songs as well.
