A good read but still those boring bits
I have now read eighteen books in this series and although I enjoy them I am tired of each story being interrupted every so often by a potted history of Sir Baldwin, his wife Jeanne, his friend Simon Puttock or his servant Edgar.I will of course read the remaining ten or so books but will just have to skip the oh so boring ( above mentioned ) repetition in each one.

An excellent read.
Another tightly plotted episode in the Templar series. Jecks is a master of the genre. Recommended to all medieval mystery fans.

Another winner
Quite a complicated story but I just love this period in history and the detail is amazing.

Chapel of Bones
This installment of Michael Jenks' Templar series continues the tradition of excellence in research, with dialogue, activities and attitudes that appropriately reflect the medeavil times where the series takes place.I came late to the series, and have been reading the books out of order, which has not been a problem as it may be with some series'. Knights, squires, bishops and lords, as well as common serfs come to life. If you enjoy period novels like this, try the Sister Fidelma books, as well as CJ Sansom's Shardlake novels.

Very Good Series
I enjoy the historical aspects of Medieval mysteries . This is a good series with good characters. I would recommend it to those who like history and mystery.

Not up to Jecks usual high standard
Although his main characters are all there, Jecks has added so many new ones that the plot is hard to follow. After 400 pages setting up an assassination from forty years ago as motive, he has a group of sixty year old men killing each other. It's too slow moving and confusing for me.
