What is the fiber content of this rug?

The tag says 100% polyester; backing is antislip cotton. It's a very nice rug.

Would this be a good rug for under my desk at work?

If you have a general office job where you don't track in a lot of dirt I would say yes, it would look nice. Only downside to putting ours in a high traffic area at home is it shows all the dirt, but it is machine washable so that's a plus!

Has anybody actually washed this rug in their washing machine? How did it hold up?

I have not tried it yet because the machines in my building are old and have agitators, but I suspect a larger, front loading washer could probably handle it. For me, I need to go to a laundromat. I'm lazy, though, and will probably use rug cleaner.

Can I use this outside on a front porch?

No, I wouldn't expose it to any weather. It's a little lightweight and delicate.
