JonPaul Carrera Model Silver-Mounted Carbon Fiber 4/4 Violin Bow

I purchased this bow from another authorized retailer (was going to purchase through Amazon but got $200 off). I have to say that this is a wonderful bow. It is so well balanced that it feels very light and responsive. It can draw beautiful tone from the violin. My instructor, who has a very nice (read expensive) pernambuco bow, played my JonPaul on his violin and just said "I want it!" The sound produced by the two bows almost identical. I think the pernambuco had a barely perceptible richer tone...certainly not worth the difference in price. Note: the bow comes in two strengths. Firm and Flexible. I got the Firm. I think the firm matches the stiffness of the pernambuco bow, nicely.

This is one of the best bows I've found. Light, quick, responsive and the production of a consistent tone quality with both synthetic core or gut core strings characterize my experiences. Having owned several Codas, I was surprised how different this carbon fiber bow plays compared to other composites. No changes with the weather, or never needing to be re-cambered is an added bonus. I'm seriously considering buying a second to use as a backup!

It's unfortunate of the experience of the other reviewer in getting a proper defect free bow. But this is one awesome bow. I've let a few Musicians try it with VERY expensive taste and they really liked it. I bought mine at a local Violin Shop paid about the same price listed as Evergreen. In fact I was just getting on Amazon in the thoughts of getting a 2nd one and maybe find one a little cheaper.
