Great Opinel Alternative - Well Made
I am a big fan of Opinel knives and own several of them. This knife is right up there with them and I think it is slightly better built. I typically have to sand the Opinel handles to avoid hot spots. I didn't need to do that for this knife. While I did buff the handle with some micromesh pads just for appearance, it was smooth out of the box. The knife that I received is very nice. It is well built and fit and finish are top notch. It came shaving sharp out of the box with no real issues at all. Used a jewelers file to knock back some of the sharp edges on the back end of the blade. Treated the handle with some cutting board oil and it's good to go. Would like to find a nice belt sheath for it. The Opinel #10 sheaths don't seem to be very well made for the price. YMMV.

Handmade
Purchased as a picnic/camping knife. Handle needs oiling, or waxing as it is unfinished. Blade is flat-ground (only sharpened on the decal side of the blade). Blade is not very sharp and edge dulls rather quickly, however this is a fun first peasant knife that is a cool alternative to Opinel. Great way to cut fruit and vegetables once you get a decent edge on it.

Beautiful and well priced
Wow, what a little beauty. Well made and easy to use. Almost too pretty. I'm a fan of the Openel, but this is gorgeous and functional.

Better than an Opinel....
...in some respects! I bought the Old Bear XL, which is the same size as the Opinel #10. The Bear has a better blade lock, and the Opinel has a better blade. I like the walnut handle too. The Bear also has some cool etching on the blade. Well worth $25!!
