- Meco Digital 1080 Trms Clamp Meter

Dated 24th October 2019MECO 1080 TRMS is a good clamp meter. Though I could not do extensive testing of this meter, I have done some rudimentary tests so that any future buyers would find useful. Im attaching some pictures taken during the measurements. From my limited experience with this meter, first , I would like to point out some minor irritants I have observed.1- First of all, the clamp jaws are slightly tighter than the ones I have used.2- The test leads provided are small in length, only 80cms (See the attached Image)3- It almost fully occupied my palm, (See the attached Image) and4- It weighs around 325 grams ,(See the attached Image) and I would like to say it felt heavy on continuous handheld use.5- The Hold/ Backlight button very sensitive to touch . If one is not careful enough to avoid pressing it accidentally, it will hold the displayed value. Then we have to press it again to see the current reading. This is the most irritating feature I noticed on this meter.As I said earlier, these are only minor issues, and has nothing to do with the proper working or measurements.In case you are not bothered about the issues I mentioned earlier, may be you can consider having this meter .The Clamp jaw opening is 3 centimeters (See the attached Image). Also its has a backlit display which I found very useful while taking readings . Regarding the measurements I could measure a whopping AC current of 630Amps! @230V (See the attached Image) on my homemade spot welder. The meter displayed 2.35 Amps AC current @ 220V on a washing machine motor and 110 mA DC current , for a 12Volt DC motor. Please have a look at the attached images for measurements of Resistance,Capacitance and DC Voltage. The resistor and capacitor were from the local market and I dont know how precise their values are, hence Im not willing to comment on the accuracy of the values measured by this meter.Finally , I donno how the meter will be in the long run, but for the time being, Im very happy about this product and would give a 4.5 out of 5 points.

GET DEFICT IN ONE MONTH

The product is substandard. When the problem was reported they say warranty will not be covered as it was purchased from AMAZON !!!!! This is not acceptable. We purchased the product as it had one year warranty.
