Redback Boots USBBKSC “Easy Escape” Steel Toe Scuff Cap – Black

I'm a marine diesel mechanic, mostly on crew boats and offshore supply vessels. These have been my go-to boots for the last 12 years. I'll admit I tried other brands but no other boot comes close to the comfort and durability right out of the box. The insoles are cheap they do not last long in my line of work but there are plenty of insoles to choose from. They are Australian boots and sized so normally I wear a 9.5 but in redback I wear an 8.5. My last 2 pairs I was able to get close to 3 years out of them and only because after 3 years of diesel, sweat, and other chemicals getting on them they were smelling pretty bad, i still use them for yard work. Hands down best boots ever.

Ordering boots online is always a gamble. The actual boots are fantastic, but it took two attempts.Redback sizing can get confusing, but in this case the seller clearly labeled that they were US sizes, which was confirmed when I received the box. I have wide feet, but went with standard witdth and ordered an 11 (the size of my existing boots and the majority of all my shoes)It's hard to estimate exact length, due to the steel toe, but I had a full thumb-width extra behind my heel. A 10US seems to be the ideal fit. So unless you already have a pair of Redbacks, I would tend to go down a full size.

This my 4th pair of Redbacks over the years. The break in period has gotten worse.First one was comfortable from the start. Each one after that took from a few days, to my current pair which I have been wearing for two weeks is still tight and hopefully will stretch enough to be comfortable.Three other co workers both the same model boots and have had these boots before, and are having the same issues.After repeated attempts to break in these boots for several weeks, I was unsuccessful. I am unable to wear them. This was a wasted purchase.

This is turning into a painful disappointment. I bought these in March to replace a wonderful pair of redbacks that I had finally worn out. I found an easy cheat to break-in the neck of them, so that wasn't an issue. However it's now June and they're killing my feet. They're too tight around the middle of the foot over the arch. I've been waking up with my heels hurting like I tried to stomp through a floor. And my arches hurt. I don't know if it's a lack of arch support or what. They're obviously built out of quality, durable material and may last forever, but I'm about to throw in the towel and look for something else.

I've had these for over a year now and have held up pretty good. These boots are durable overall. Composite toe is great as well as the material that makes the boot. Only downside is the brake in period. Brand new these boots are very stiff and harsh on the feet. May take a little over a week to break them in. I'm 9 1/2 in general, these I had to get 8 1/2. They're also great in the snow.

This is the first pair of steel toe redbacks for me. The break in period is way longer in my opinion than the non steel toe, almost to the point of trying to return them. I toughed it out and they do break in. Some people say boots should be comfortable right away, in my experience those boots never last as long as these do. They're amazingly comfortable after the break in peroid. I wear them in a mechanic shop daily and also use for hiking hunting etc.. They look good maintain shape well and clean up nice.

I was unsure about buying these online because I couldn’t test fit them. I bought the same size boot I wear daily. I was pleasantly surprised of the fit. The boot-toe area has just enough room to move my toes. Very comfortable and light. Love these boots.Size 10

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Redbacks so I had to give them a try. These boots are one week old and were broken in after one 24 hours shift. Make sure you try sizes on, I tried on several sizes that the guys at the firehouse already owned and they generally run true to your boot size if not a half size smaller. Remember the UK size is one number smaller than your US size!!! Great boots.
