Dreadful customer support from Cromptons
I purchased a Crompton ceiling fan via Amazon on 17 March 2025. The fan was sold by Goodlife in Chennai, Invoice #XITW-2530. It was delivered on 19 March and installed the next day. It did not turn on and the electrician informed me that the motor was defective. I have been trying to have Crompton's customer service attend to this problem since March 24 - more than two weeks ago. I am shocked by the complete lack of attention and followup shown by such an old and prestigious company. I have registered a complaint FOUR TIMES in two weeks. Each time the service request mysteriously gets cancelled, so there is no followup. - My first complaint, registered via WhatsApp on March 24, was assigned to Karnataka Electronic Services on March 25. On March 27, I got an SMS saying the service request has been cancelled. - On March 28, I re-registered the complaint via WhatsApp. On March 29, I received an SMS saying that the request would be attended by AVK International. On March 29, I was told by SMS that the service request had been cancelled. - The same day, March 29, I reinitiated the service request and was informed that it would be attended by VS Electricals. I received a call from someone enquiring about installation of a washing machine, which was not my complaint. - On April 3, I spoke to a customer service representative and a new service request was assigned to VS Electricals. On April 4, I received an SMS saying that the request had been cancelled. My ceiling fan is brand new, very much under warranty, and has not worked from day 1. I did not request a replacement from Amazon because I never imagined this would happen. I cannot understand how an old and respected company like Cromptons can use this strategy of cancelling service requests so that it appears that the customer has cancelled and there is no further action from the side of the company. The WhatsApp chat bot is useless and the customer representatives on the phone line are not helpful. As of now, I still have a brand new ceiling fan that does not work.
