The breakdown of the words allowed for each word to be a lesson for my students to review and develop real life relatable messages. We used the book from a teacher to student syllabus to study success personally and collectively within the group setting. A team at my school used it to establish team goals. If you are looking at this book and think it is not for you because you don’t play basketball or any other sport, I am here to tell you that while I am someone who doesn’t play sport, this is a powerful book to help anyone in a leadership position or wants to become a leader!Kevin Eastman has an excellent way of taking 25 words and articulating the importance of each word in how one can excel in life.Using great examples, he has garnered in his career I found solid takeaways that can be applied in any circumstance. This was definitely a great investment and a book that I will come back to read again.

I thought Why The Best Are The Best was a great read. As a high school coach I thought that Kevin Eastman provided some great insight as well as thoughts that I could examine in my own practice.

2019 is shaping up to an amazing year of reading. This book keeps the momentum rolling as I devoured this book in about a week and then had to go back and read again to explore more deeply my highlights and scribbles in the margin.I really enjoyed the 25 words and has motivated me to think about my own words. What words with my youth teams pick? I found so many of the ideas concepts that can be applied as a teacher, youth coach, and parent. There are many universal truths contained in these pages that work no matter who you are. Additionally, I loved the basketball stories as I love reading about the drive of players like KG.I will be gifting this book to others, but for now it will be required reading for my own children so they can apply the principles to their own lives.

Enjoyable read and a quick at that. Eastman is someone I follow on Twitter and book matched what I would anticipate.

This is a great book for anyone looking for ways to grow and get better. The content of the book is certainly great and organized well, but more than that is the fact that it is evident that Kevin used these principles and continues to use them each and every day. It is inspiring and challenging! Thanks for a great book!

Relevant to not only sport but personal development and growth and business and leadership A highly recommended reference book that you will keep going back to. One of my favourite books. Have bought several copies as gifts.
