Fridge Protector 6A with Surge Protection upto 4000 Volts | White

Excellent product, works exactly as described. I’ve connected it to my 580 liter fridge to provide a 3 minute time delay to protect the fridge from quick stop-and-start cycle, and power surge happens during power outage when the electric generator kicks in too quickly. FYI - all Refrigerators, Air Conditioners, Ice makers, etc need to have a 3 minute (or more) gap between power Off and On - the reason being that the refrigerant (R32 gas, or freon in older models) is under pressure as it circulates inside the tubing to provide cooling. Too quick a start of less than 3 minutes can damage the compressor, because it tries to start pumping the gas, but it can’t, as the gas is under pressure. It takes up to 3 minutes for this pressure to dissipate. This model is rated 6A (Ampere), enough for a fridge, but NOT enough for an Air conditioner, which is usually about 10 or 15A. Use this model for your fridge, TV or other electronic gadgets to protect them. It runs cool, only slightly warm to the touch which is normal, when connected to my fridge. It’s a world class product and it’s Made in India (not China) which is Excellent !!

Energy efficient

This little device fits the regular 5A/15A plug and doesn't take space elsewhere. It has indicator LED on left hand side. Plug it on and forget what is happening. I bought this device right after my fridge compressor blown away due to voltage fluctuations. After that voltage fluctuation happened but this device took it fine. The fridge was protected. We can see the LED turns red when the voltage is below rating, and blinks for 3 mins when the supply is good before resuming the power. Simply it does what it advertises. The plastic quality is strong, LED is small and not irritatingly bright. Just enough to indicate. The plug holding is good enough, should be able to handle few plugin/plugouts but why to play around? Let it be.

I do have 7 pieces of this product (mix of 6 & 16Amp). Used with different products like Microwave, Chimney, Geysers, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, etc. Till date no issues what so ever.

Before installing I tested it using a variac. The low-voltage and high-voltage cut-off work at the specified voltages. The start-up delay is also as specified. I think it can properly protect a fridge against voltage sags and surge. I hope they have also incorporated protection against transient spikes as claimed. Looks like a well designed product. I hope it will last like the fridge. Overall, I think it is a very good buy.

Product not working properly with refrigerator

Very good product, I mainly wanted a device that can provide some delay while starting. It helps in case of frequent fluctution in case light goes off and come on quickly multiple times. In my case the auto genset provided in society, used to switch on automatically in 3-4 sec, it used to cause immediate on/off fluctution for refrigerator and can harm compressor. Voltage fluctution was not an issue in our case. Stabilizer is very experience and it provided simple and cheap solution to the problem. It is working as intended.
