High quality powder full coverage and very sticky
I ordered this because the brand is industry standard, but I almost would have preferred a lighter, less sticky, powder. I don't have enough experience to criticize, and it also might have been my fiberglass brush responsible. This is a good product that does the job, but my brush picked up way too much powder each time no matter how little I put into the tray. Perhaps humidity had a role too. I won't take any stars off for the sticky performance, because it also handily stuck to fingerprints, but this powder probably requires a smaller and lighter brush than the zephyr fiberglass brush I ordered to use with it.

Great for detective kits....
I bought this for a grandson when the fingerprint powder that came with a detective kit he was given for his birthday didn't show fingerprints well. This powder did the trick.

As Described
This latent fingerprint powder glides on and precisely sticks to fingerprints, skin oils, and DNA. The product is as described... yet the photo is slightly misleading. The image includes multiple containers, yet the product is actually only one plastic container of latent fingerprint powder. My question is: do fingerprint and DNA experts know how to separate the DNA from multiple people (for example: if I am collecting fingerprints and DNA without gloves and it gets on the tape, and there is someone else's DNA or fingerprints on the collection tape, how will they know the difference... hmmm...)? :p I recommend this product.

Great Product
I'm really into forensic science and was excited to be able to dust for fingerprints. At first I was a little disappointed because I didn't realize how small 2oz. really is, but it ended up lasting a lot longer than I had expected. Secondly, it does stain, but of course I'm not going to give it a bad rating because of that (unlike some people), I'm just putting that out there so everybody knows. I have since ordered it a second time, and would definitely recommend it.

A Must For Latent Fingerprinting Purposes.
Worked well for demonstrating the lifting of latent fingerprints for Boy Scouts taking the Boy Scout Fingerprinting Merit Badge. It is a bit messy, so protect the area you are using it in... and cleanup afterwards.

Worth the Value
Works like it suppose to, good value for what you get.

My jar had the WARNING "Suspected of causing cancer" label !
I never opened this product because there was a "WARNING: H351 Suspected of causing cancer.." message on this 2 oz Jar of "Sirchie Hi-Fi Volcano Latent Fingerprint Powder" which was supposed to be used for my child's science project. It would have been extremely helpful to have this warning on this Amazon site's product description and picture since it would have saved me time by NOT purchasing it !.

Be Advised: Can set off an allergic reaction
Please WEAR GLOVES when handling this item and contain/cover the area where you could later expose yourself to this product (desk, counter, etc).I had a SEVERE & painful inflammatory reaction on my palms and fingers after handling this powder. I was in tears for 2 days and saw a dermatologist. Prescription creams took care of the problem but it cost me time, money and comfort.I'm not allergy prone (hayfever & dust at most). But this was like a painful poison ivy rash. Be careful!I don't wish to malign this product for its effectiveness when dusting for prints. But a stronger warning label would be appreciated. Thnx!
