My dentist recommended this toothpaste above all others simply because it has the ability to repair tiny cracks or holes in the enamel of the teeth. I have two back molars that have hairline cracks in them (vertically) and I was experiencing hot and cold sensitivity with associated nerve pain. After x-raying my teeth and examining them closely, she determined that there was absolutely no decay to the tooth, just the hairline cracks. So she said to use this toothpaste and WOW, after about 10 days of using it the hot and cold sensitivity all but disappeared and now, four months later, I have no pain at all and my cracked molars feel normal. I avoid chewing on them and brush twice a day with this toothpaste and I can tell you that this is very effective -- at least in my case. Highly recommended. Worth it's weight in gold
