Patterned after the Schott 700 series. Excellent value.
I had instant virtual buyers remorse after completing this order, which is normal. I kept looking back at the photo and thinking the collar is much too small. I began to fear the reviews were fake, and that the coat would be a cheap piece of crap....My fears faded away as soon as the coat was in hand. This is a stiff, rugged, coat. I had been eyeing the Schott 740, but feared it to heavy for my climate and decided to try this one based on good reviews on product as well as ease of return. This is definitely a Schott 700 series pattern coat with a solid 80% wool blend. The large lapel and collar along with the 8 button front matches a ww2 coat almost exactly. The coat feels like strapping armor on and instantly amplifies the confidence of the wearer. I'll post some pictures soon. Item is true to size, just measure your chest and order accordingly. The small is almost too large for me at 5'10" and 145 lbs.Remember some body types will simply not be complimented by a peacoat. It is a garment designed for fit, slim sailors. If you are shorter than 5'8" or to big around the middle, you may want to seek a different style.Overall, in very happy and looking forward to winter to get this coat worn in.

Great coat and great value
I still have my original enlisted-issue pea coat from 1977, so I did a comparison between this jacket and the real thing. The original is 100% wool with silver buttons but those are the only differences (and the USN went back to black buttons not long after I was issued my coat in boot camp). The Seibertron coat is easily equal to the original in quality, fit, utility, warmth and every other aspect. It's also a much better value when compared the similar Schott coat.Fully recommend the coat.

Great fit navy style peacoat! Definitely recommended!
At first I purchased the XL version of this coat which was nice, but slightly loose around the waist line. Instead I've purchased the L version which feels great and fitted for me (Even when I wear a knitted turtleneck sweater). I'm 6'2 and 220lbs hope that helps for some of you guys out there. The coat feels very genuine and the material is great, this will keep you very warm during cold winters.

Far beyond my expectations.
I must admit I was worried about this item, either the quality or color (I got the blue one). What I received blew me away. The materials, and quality are top notch. It seems to be made to the same construction specs as USN peacoats with 80-20 wool-nylon, no frayed stitching that sometimes comes with a lot of overseas manufactured garments, and all around a great product. The blue coat is not as blue as the picture lets on, it's more of a lighter shade of navy, the buttons too are a little darker than the picture. Most USN peacoats just look black to me, when they're actually navy-blue, this one I think is a little light than a navy-blue but still a dark blue. Great cut, not too baggy, not too slim, I can wear a light blazer under the coat and be fine. I can't wait to try it out for when winter comes. I'm 5'8", 160 lbs, slight build, and I ordered a medium and it fits perfectly.

Not worth the money
I don't understand all the glowing reviews. This coat has all kinds of issues. Despite it being cheaper than most wool peacoats, it's still not worth the price.First, the wool is rough, scratchy, and cheap feeling. I have had many other wool coats in my life and never felt such a rough wool. It doesn't feel nice against the skin and not a lot of wools do but this was just awful. Granted there is a liner but your hands, wrist, neck will all be exposed to the outer shell. Also, after trying the coat on in my bathroom, my vanity was covered in little black fibers.Second, the sizing on this coat is all over the place. I'm 5"10", 175lbs and wear a medium in just about everything. My chest is roughly 39-40" I ordered a medium and the arms were too long and the chest was too big. I ordered a small and the arms fit good along with the chest but the length was a bit too short. It probably would have been OK except for the slit in the back. More on that below.Third, the lapel flaps (not sure what else to call them) do not have a nice fold in them. Even with the coat closed, they will protrude out. I even laid the coat out with some weight over the flaps for a few days and they still wouldn't hold the fold. Maybe if you took it to a dry cleaner they could press a fold in but it shouldn't have to be that way. This issue was present in both the medium and the small that I ordered.Lastly, the slit in the back of the coat (at the bottom), comes up too high. Maybe it's just because of the small being a tad short but I did compare it to a blazer I had and the slit on this coat was much longer. It basically came up halfway between my waist and mid back. Also, that part of the jacket tended to stick out as well much like the lapel flaps.Needless to say, both of the coats were returned. Don't put much faith in the high reviews.

Great coat, deceptively warm.
Shipping was super quick and it came packed in one box. I was initially thrown off because it seemed much lighter than the one I had from the army/navy store years ago but its 25 degrees in the northeast right now and this thing is keeping me nice a warm. It fits comfortably, I'm 6' 190lbs and the medium over a sweater isn't too tight. Just buy it, youll like.

Just like the WWII original
I bought this Navy pea coat because I wanted one exactly like the WWII coat that I had inherited from an uncle and worn out after 50-plus years. This coat is as close to authentic as it can be. The buttons are right in appearance, color and number. The pockets configuration is correct. The wool feels the same. When shopping, I saw similar coats at a far higher price and many poor imitation at equal or higher prices. This coat arrived promptly. I'm satisfied

Definitely *NOT* for a large person!
I normally wear size 3XL outerwear, but based on other comments here I ordered the 4XL to be safe. It didn't even come close to fitting. I couldn't even close one single button with just a T-shirt under it, and the sleeves came at least 5 inches beyond my fingertips. Don't waste your time and money if you're a bigger person. I'll give it 3 stars because the quality of the garment appears to be absolutely top-notch (despite being made in China, which is disappointing in and of itself), but size 4XL is who's universe?

Excellent Quality Peacoat
This coat is excelent; an easy 5 stars.Well made and finished, the quality of the material is superb and it is very warm. Its offers great value at about half the proce for what you pay for a Schott Peacoat. The only watch-out is the size guide - I am a 42" chest, 36 waist and a 34-35" arms - based on the size guide i ordered an XL but is was far too big in the body and about 2" too long in the arms. I replaced it with a M, and the coat fits perfect. I can get a couple of layers underneath, i.e. tshirt and hoody no problem.

Go for it!
I don't usually write reviews but so please with this item I felt I had to.Fit: I'm 5.9" height and athletic build "Medium" fits perfectly, covers my backside and comes down to top of my thighs. Sleeves are perfect length. Coat is big enough to wear with a fleece or sweater underneath. Could have been made to measure for me.Quality: The quality is excellent, it's heavy and warm. Material is thick and I have no reason to doubt this is 80% wool. Has two inner pockets either side with a nice quilted lining. All the stitching and seems are spot on. Plenty of spare button inside.I'm general pretty fussy and I appreciate quality. This jacket is just what I was after, don't waste money getting more expensive designer items. This is spot on in my humble opinion. Really pleased, feels great, looks very smart, understated and goes with anything. I'm sure I have this coat for years!

Good Quality at a good price
The product is very good quality. The fit is as expected for the size ordered (MED) I am Five seven and a half , 155 lbs. It has TWO inside pockets and Two side pockets which are plenty deep enough unless you want to put your shopping into them. The sizing chart is a very good guide and obviously produced for the western ie european sizes. For the money you could not find a better coat . I ordered a MEDIUM and it is perfect. Some of the reviews are quite frankly Brainless ie complaints about needing a lint brush , come on! . Read the reviews which mention the reviewers height and weight. This is what I did and was not disappointed

Very good coat
Very good quality and fit, very warm good looking coat with the 10 button design, material is just how a pea coat should be with enough stiffness for collar to be worn up. I'm usually a large (5'10' 12.5 stone, 40"chest) but went with medium for a slightly slimmer fit and it's perfect, large would have been too big on shoulders and sleeves. Only reason I didn't give five stars is that the buttons are a bit loose and will need stitching, but that's only a minor point.

Solid Quality
I went by the reviews of this item before deciding on buying it, and I am really pleased to have been vindicated. The large I thought might be too large for me actually fits like a glove, the material is tough and durable, and most importantly, warm. The inner lining is padded, a nice touch. The buttons all seem to be well secured, too. A sound investment which replaces another navy pea coat that cost me nearly three times as much about a decade ago - if I can get ten years out of this one, I'll be over the moon. A great buy.

Looks good
Though it was to large it was warm and well made. I had to return the coat as to large and not in my size.

Bought as a Christmas present. Top 2 buttons missing. Very obvious to whoever packed it. Disappointed as liked the look of it. Returned and bought a different brand.

Great Quality
I bought the black one, small size. I am six feet tall, athletic, and the lenght was just perfect. Maybe is larger than I was expecting it to be, but this can be an upside as you can easily wear a jacket under it.Overall, very wortwhile for the money. Excellent style, very warm.

Long sleeves
The 2xl and 3xl have the same size for the sleeves and they are too big for me. (I am using 3xl)
