Golden State Fruit Sympathy Fruit Basket with Cheese and Nuts

Ideal gift for grieving family members. Instead of sending a plant or flowers I prefer this idea.

Feel this was slightly over priced and could have contained a few more pieces of fruit, etc. Also, the basket wasn't assembled comfortably which would have been fine but no instructions or even photo of how to assemble. There was also no content list so we couldn't tell exactly what we were giving our friend unless we unwrapped the fruit & opened the small boxes. After gifting, we learned that the basket contained cheese & glad that we had refrigerated it as no mention of cheese listed or need to refrigerate and it could have been sitting in the sun several hours if we weren't home to bring inside. I rated the freshness with 4stars but I truly do not know if that's accurate as our grieving friend is too polite to tell us if everything wasn't fresh.

I have used this same fruit gift basket is several occasions and although I have not personally seen it everyone who has received it has told me that the fruits were very fresh and well packed and the cheese nuts and crackers were very good and nicely presented.

I purchased this for an out-of-state friend on the death of her husband. She has said everything was top quality, fruit, etc. Since she didn't know who sent it because there was no card, she called amazon customer service who told her they could not give out that info before contacting their customer. I waited to call my friend until the acknowledged date of delivery. As it turned out that was a day too late to save my friend grief. The reason for my three stars is that no gift card was available. Now, who the HELL buys a sympathy basket where a card ISN'T necessary? Get your act together Golden State Fruit. Don't think I'll use this company again.
