This thing makes a great media server it is whisper silent so long as it isn’t needed to transcode anything at that moment. Can’t even hear it from 2 feet away and even under full load you can only just barely hear it and uses very little power. But, it includes Windows installed by default which runs horribly. Just throw Truenas or something like that and it runs like a dream. Replacing it with something with more space since SSDs aren’t cheap and converting it to just a web browsing and YouTube PC since my main PC died and waiting to replace. Again Windows sucks for this but Fedora Linux works great with no major fiddling, just install and go. Your mileage may very with other forms of Linux depending on which kernel they are using by default since the hardware is still relatively new as of righting this.

So far, so good! A low power NAS! Low power! I successfully installed TrueNAS Scale (25.04.2.3) on the system. My only disappointment is that it has just 12 GB of RAM — I wish it was upgradeable. I’m currently running TrueNAS Scale with containerized apps for DNS and Mail (Postfix and Dovecot). TrueNAS 25.04.2.3 wasn't unable to partition the EMMC during the installation process, but I was able to install version 24.04.0 then upgrade it 25.04.2.3. Not sure if this a NAS issue or hardware..
