I like the design, the way the needle is, definately a good thing to have when going to buy/inspect a bridgeport or any industrial tooling. Reads about right on my China-made stuff, slop like a metal beaver been down there, and my german-made stuff.....is this thing on? So, its not just throwing noise. The ONLY thing I didn't like about it was the magnet-clamp.....weak. I get it, its not gonna be pressed on, but I wanna mount it upside down and diagnal sideways maybe ya know? I'd had rather them just stick with a strong neodynium. Regardless, its functionality will save you from buying junk, and when the dude see's you have a mountable guage, they are gonna get a little more truthful about how much that bridgeport is worth. Runout on a 4' table can vary a LOT. True it up? Take 2 grand off! Didn't come here to buy YOUR PROBLEM. Its a great negotiation tool. Whod have thunk it?

Magnetic base on/off allows for mounting in difficult positions and measures accurately. The locking knob works well. A must have tool for a metal lathe setup.

Worked like a champ. Magnet was strong enough. Fit where I needed it. Repeatable results even after resets and changes. I was super happy with it.

This Test Indicator is a great buy. I've spent a lot more, hundreds for brand name indicators and this one performed just as well as those. The magnetic strength wasn't as strong as I expected. But after I thought about it is a bit small. I found a polished 3" round of steel that works perfect. I recommend anyone who needs a Test Indicator with Mag Base to pickup on this great deal.
