Alive II

I absolutely love this 2-LP set of KISS "Alive II". When I discovered KISS growing up from my father's music collection, Alive II (on vinyl) was actually the second KISS album I ever heard (the first was the Smashes Thrashes & Hits compilation on CD - and that's where my near KISS obsession began). Given my special history with this album, I knew I had to have it on vinyl (just like everything else KISS). However, I kept putting it off because of the price tag. Low and behold when I had earned the gift card from one of my loyalty programs, I splurged it on this album and one other (Carnival of Souls). I took this album for a spin and kind of kicked myself that I hadn't bought it sooner. This sounds so much better than my father's copy (which is probably about as old as I am). I love that they kept every detail of the sleeve (both inner and outer), booklet, and temporary tattoo sheet the same as they had for the original issues (even though dad's copy no longer had the tattoos or booklet). Even though the price is a little high, it's worth getting. 5 out of 5 stars and a high recommendation from me!

I don't need to review the music itself. This review pertains to the quality of the 2014 vinyl reissues in general.Some people love them. Some people hate them.I fall into the previous camp.I love the mastering and packaging of these releases. Including the booklets,stickers,posters, and tattoos with these releasesreally ups the desirability. People have complained about the price,but to find an original issue with all the original inserts in mint condition is almost always more $ than any of these releases.As for the mastering,some dislike what is called "smiley face EQ" (boosting the highs and lows)but I always felt the Kiss catalog was a bit mid-rangey anyway. Comparing to my original pressings or 1970's repressings of these albums, I always prefer the 2014 versions. and every one of these 2014 LPs I own is pressed on dead quiet,flat vinyl.If your looking to build your Kiss vinyl collection and don't want to spend time and money on finding original pressingsbaby baby don'tcha hesitate to grab these records. great sound. great package. great band

This is the 1st KISS album I ever heard. At Age 9 (I am now 45) I rented this from my local Library after seeing the cover and these four guys with makeup on. The 1st side, the 1st listen..I WAS HOOKED. THIS is the album that made me a life long KISS fan. I ended up having y Mom buy me this album when I was 10 and I wore out the grooves over the many years I played it. Digital came, CD's came and the CD's never sounded the same as my initial LP.With this remaster, the sound is back. Heavy, full, and BIG! The bass is back that was missing from the CD and on my turntable today this sounds so much nicer than the digital versions.It may be a LITTLE dark but it is better than the thin bright CD.My fave KISS album ever, and now on Vinyl again, remastered and sounding just like it did in the 70's, I am so happy to own it.

I have this original LP but it's not in good condition due to extensive play and wear. I bought this as a replacement in January 2021 and it sounds great. This album has always been one of my favorites.

If you’re looking to introduce someone to KISS, this is a GREAT way to do it! If you’re looking to expand your record collection, this is a MUST have!

Not as good as Alive but far superior to III. Awsome 180 gram vinyl. Sound is great.

Desde que tenía doce años iba a las tiendas de música y me la pasaba mirando el album, soy fanático de kiss y compré la mayoría de los discos que aún tengo, pero este por su precio no estaba a mi alcance en aquellos tiempos, así que lo compré en su nueva versión remasterizada y prensado en 180 gramos, perfeccionado (según la disquera) para nosotros los audiófilos, pero aquí esta la critica, sólo algunas canciones se escuchan bien, lamentablemente otras se escuchan mal, es el caso de Hard Luck Woman, hermosa canción y se escucha muy mal, se escucha exactamente igual a como se escucha en el disco original en que viene, de hecho se escucha mejor en el disco doble platinum, album que soy de los pocos en tenerlo. Sin embargo es de lo mejor de kiss.

Io ho conosciuto i Kiss da ragazzino con questo disco..poi tutto il resto, era diventato trasparente il doppio vinile di allora a furia di ascoltarlo...certo tra tutti gli Alive di loro è forse il meno "potente" ma riascoltarlo pulito fa sempre venire i brividi. Amazon perfetto in tempi e precisione
