Amazing unit. Thought it was DOA when it arrived but it's been ok since
I love this unit. I did get an error code 12 when it arrived, but that seems to have been a blip and it's been working flawlessly. Here's my situation: I have a 13 m2 bedroom in the attic with a typical PVC casement window (they're a terrible fit for portable units as they open outward from a hinge). I can't get a split system as I do not have permission, but I also need to sleep comfortably during hot times. However, the UK market for effective AC units is dire. For example, having a dual-hose AC instead of a single hose one (which is what most of the UK market has) can boost efficiency massively by up to 40% with the same energy usage because it doesn't suck the air from the room that's being cooled out the window. The UK market desperately lacks these as the demand isn't there for it. When I saw this unit, I almost dismissed it because I thought it can't possibly be dual hose while being that small. But it is! Even better, you can even put this unit OUTSIDE, and run two hoses that circulate conditioned air to the unit through a window for even more efficiency and quiet. While I can't do that, it's a nice option if I want to carry it downstairs. Not only is it small, but it's quiet, well built, and efficient. I have yet to break 500w on max mode, but I can easily let this thing idle at 300w to maintain a comfortable and dry room temperature. Sleep mode uses even less, around 230w. This is a massive drop in energy consumption vs the typical cheap units that consume over a 1 kw and are relatively loud. I was not only surprised to see an efficient, dual hose, easy to carry unit being sold in the UK, but I was also surprised to receive one and it live up to my expectations! This is great, as being in the UK means most of the year is cool enough to not need this unit so I can put it somewhere out of the way super easily while not in use or carry it up and down the stairs without breaking a sweat. Here's some questions I had before I bought one that I know the answer to now: Q: How does it fare for a light sleeper? A: I'm a somewhat light sleeper. While it's definitely noticeable at night, it's tolerable on sleep mode. It's got a lower hum in addition to the white noise of the fan, and doesn't make many abrupt stop-and-start noises that can be really disruptive but you definitely hear it kick in, but it does do a decent job of ramping it up slowly. It can be disruptive to light sleepers, but for moderate to heavy sleepers this unit is no problem. Q: Is it easy to carry? A: The top of the unit where the vents are work as carry handles. If you're able bodied, you should be able to carry it with ease. Just make sure to not tip it or swing it around as you carry, or you may need to let the compressor rest upright for a while before turning it back on to prevent damaging it. Q: How well does the de-humidification work? A: I haven't yet used the dedicated dehumidifier mode but it really does dry the air. As of writing, the air outside had a relative humidity of 70% at 21C last night, which feels a couple of degrees hotter and is stickier. This unit dried the air in my room to 45% humidity which is perfect, and feels really comfortable. So, even if it's plausible to say the outdoor temperature is fine, UK weather is actually pretty humid most times! The built-in tank fills up very quickly within a couple of hours under these conditions, so I have the supplied drainage tube flow into a 1 gallon container (which must be positioned under the unit, and the end of the tube must not touch the bottom of the container). As I have this unit on a table, it's easy. And to empty it is as easy as tipping the contents of the container in the sink. Q: Can I work from home with this unit on? A: Most definitely! It's quiet enough to work from home with this unit on the background I think. I recommend running it in eco mode with a low fan setting, it's a great balance of power and noise. And, with noise suppression on with Teams or Slack, no one will hear it on the other end (which you probably have on without realizing anyway). Q: How long are the hoses? A: I haven't measured and it's hard to say as they can almost be pulled to any length, but if you plan to route them through the small corner window (as typical of PVC casement windows) you will need to prop it up on a table or something at least 1m tall. I had to get inventive with my unit. Q: How long is the power cable? A: It's actually pretty short at 1.5m. So I would recommend an extension cord be purchased with this unit if your nearest outlet it far away. I don't know how this will fare with camping though, as I do not plan to use this for camping. Q: Do I need an American adapter plug? A: No. I have seen some dual hose units in the UK have the American plug but this one thankfully is designed for UK customers! Q: Will it work for large rooms? A: Probably not. I think anything larger than 15 m2, and this unit might start to struggle to keep up. My 13m2 room is being cooled effectively by this unit, but I do not get instant results when I turn it on. I usually pre-cool my room using max mode while I am out, then switch to a quieter mode when I am in the room. However! I speak as someone using this in a somewhat poorly insulated attic room with black heat absorbing tiles. If your room is well insulated, and you use both hoses effectively, then I think the scope of cooling can be increased quite substantially. Q: What's it like for tech nerds? A: This device has an app. Thankfully, the unit isn't tied to the cloud beyond firmware updates which is nice. I have own Wrieguard based VPN in addition to subnet routing using Tailscale so it is possible to control this device remotely anywhere in the world. The app looks sleek, and feels very polished. It does require an account to use which is a bummer but you can skip the app, after all, this unit is designed to work off grid and in remote areas where internet access may not be a thing!

Faulty unit sent
Ok here is an update after the replacement unit arrived. Much quieter this time. Now I think this is a brilliant product, it's DC to DC so it's good on battery life for what it is. It uses the most modern heat pump tech and for its size it pumps above it's weight. Don't always expect it to freeze you, it's designed as a portable unit, but it can keep you cool In heatwave evenings. It's also a heater which I'm yet to use and also has a dehumidifier feature too. So is it good, yes very good for its size. Is it going to be like a full blown indoor Aircon unit, no but it makes the environment pleasent

Just as poor quality as the wave 2
Noisy compressor sometimes sounds like an air plane is taking off. I bought on release day no ecoflow are selling for less than I paid with a battery.

Expensive, but only consumer dual hose aircon in UK
Got this for the Summer heat waves, A dual hose Air con is a must or you just create negative pressure inside which will draw hot air back into your room. Being a wifi device, was hoping for better Home Assistant integration, but being new it will probably take some time. Was delivered upside down, so let it stand for 24h just in case

Quality control isn't what it should be at this price.
It's a nice idea: Size OK, as easy as any other portable AC to set up, but the quality control is just bad for the money being asked here. First unit was basically DoA (compressor wouldn't start after 3 days, just lots of grinding noises), but replacement was simple enough. Second unit is functional (so far) but noisy & rattly, the auto-drain doesn't work half the time (see attached error), and the unit often triggers "water full" error when it clearly isn't, which the first unit also did. If you have the Wave 2 battery connected & mains power on, the fans on it run constantly even when the Wave 3 is powered off & the battery's full. It really doesn't seem like these were ready for release, really. As for portability: I'm only using it in one spot in the bedroom, I worry that moving it *at all* would probably break it.

Casing not fitted correctly
The machine works good but the top panel is not fitted correctly and I can’t be bothered to send it back so a few stars taken off on this review or it would of got 5

The Ecoflow Wave 3 has thus far been impressive. It was nicely packed, and came with the appropriate cords, a duct template, a drainage hose, and an upgraded duct tubes with insulation. The installation was simple and straightforward. I opted not to purchase the extra battery (for now) to see if I could get away with just using my Deltas to power it up. I tested heating up my small room from 72F and brought it up to 81F in half an hour with an average of 360w-400w on my Delta 2 Max, which is impressive given my space heater uses 1.4kw. A must have accessory is the Wave 2/3 bag. It fits snugly with room for most of the accessories. Unfortunately it didn’t fit the hoses, but you could carry the Wave 3 itself, duct template, and cords. Not to mention it was only $25. I will be using this primarily to heat up or cool down my small room when I’m at home, or camping with my Overlandish tent or take it with me in my travel trailer. It’s light weight and versatile enough to do any. If it goes on sale later on down the road I may purchase another.

So far, so good. The unit matches the description and performs as expected...no complaints so far. Regarding noise: when standing close to the evaporator side, there’s a faint high-pitched sound. I believe this is normal, as I’ve heard a similar noise from split units in the past when inspecting them up close. One minor issue: the plastic attachment connecting the exhaust from the condenser doesn’t seal perfectly. A small amount of warm air escapes from the right side, which could be improved with a tighter fit. Regarding energy consumption: you can view the total power usage (in watts) directly from the mobile app, which I find quite nice and useful. However, keep in mind the actual efficiency of the device: its SEER rating is 2.6, which is fairly average for a portable AC. (For comparison, some De’Longhi models on Amazon reach 3.1 SEER, though unfortunately they’re all single-hose units.) By contrast, split units typically exceed a SEER of 6, making them significantly more energy-efficient. I'm planning to update my review in 2-weeks with some videos :)

Watch the small print this comes with an older version 2 battery which cannot charge with car or solar. Buy the wave 3 with wave 3 battery if you need 12v or solar charging. Airco is good quality.

pretty neat, expensive as heck, but works, but do get sick for some reason when ac is on in summer time
