Works Great! Make sure to clean track and adjust strength.
The media could not be loaded. This thing works excellent. Closes the door from 1/2” or from all the way open. Install is very easy, two screws into the end of the door to hold the bracket, and two screws into the door frame t o hold the closer. If you are having problems with the door not closing, remember, you need to really clean, and then lubricate with heavy duty silicone spray the top and bottom tracks; If you leave a bunch of dirt, sand, and grime, nothing will be able to properly close your door. The devil is in the details. If your track is really dirty, I reccomend pouring water down into it, then using a long bristle scrub brush to knock out the dirt, then use a shop vac to suck out the dirty water on both sides of the door (do this with the door in the open position and the closed position.) Repeat this step a couple times until it is truly clean, then use paper towels to dry it off. If needed, remove any sand or dirt particles that didn’t get sucked up with the water. Finally, apply heavy duty silicone spray to the top track and the bottom track both on the flat surface and where the rollers slide. If you can lubricate the rollers, do that too. When I first installed mine it wouldn’t close all the way; It left the door open about 6 inches; But after cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting the close strength you can see the results in the video. Works great!!!

Actually works! Great Customer Service!
I don't ordinarily post reviews but I have to in this case because this product and the company that I bought it from (Innovative Door Solutions) deserves a good review and a thank you. I bought the slide back sliding door closer about a year ago and installed it (very easily I might add) and was SOOOO psyched out of my mind that it actually worked the way it was supposed to! I love it and as many testimonials have noted - it has saved my kids from the wrath of dad for leaving the sliding doors open constantly and letting all the A/C out in 100 degree weather. So, for one thing, this is a great idea, and a great product that actually works. That was amazing enough for me. I will concede that it is a little pricey considering what it is. But for what it does, it is worth every penny. Now, the icing on the cake... my wife broke the screw off in the bracket that holds the little arm that connects to the closer by torqueing it crazy hard and snap (the icing is coming...). She apparently doesnt know her own strength - a la Starla -lol. Anyway, since I bought it about a year ago and since we broke it and since it's usually the case nowadays, I doubted that I could get just the piece I needed to replace and that if I could, they would probably charge me an arm and leg for it, plus $29.95 for shipping and handling. But still cheaper than buying a whole new product, so I figured I'd give it a try. I called up Innovative Door Solutuions (who actually had a tel # consipicuously posted - shock enough the way NOBODY does that anymore), and also to my amazement, somebody actually answered the phone! It was Jack. Jack was super nice and helpful and said all I had to do was email my mailing address and they would ship me the part - no charge - for anything! So, I did that and then I thought, ya know, it'll probably never come. Well, again, much to my amazement, it came in the mail within about 3 days! I have since replaced the broken part, installed the new, the sliding doors are closing now with the help of the beautiful door closer and I, the wife and the kids are all at peace with each other once again. Much kudos to Jack and Innovative Door Solutions for a great product and great customer service. I haven't been able to say that to any company with any conviction in a long, long time. Nice.

VERY, VERY Disappointed and angry!
Only works right after it's freshly oiled. After a few days, it doesn't close on it's own any more. I bought it because I spend too much time yelling at my grandson's to close the door (it's 105 here in S. Texas and they are running in and out all day to the pool) went to the expense to purchase this item, only to be very disappointed. I even went as far as to contact seller for help - in case I was doing something wrong - his response was,"I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Just stakes some time for the oil to sink in." Whatever that is supposed to mean. I have used every kind of oil & lube and nothing works. I have taken out the speed control so that I know for certain there is no drag and it doesn't help. I have adjusted and readjusted until there are so many holes in my door and door frame, there almost isn't anyplace else to place a screw. AND it was NOT cheap at all. I apparently NEVER finished this review - I think because the company contacted me, but the result is no different. It still doesn't work right and I'm right back to yelling at the grand kids to close the door all the time. I'm ANGRY. I don't want to yell at them all the time but we live where the humidity is generally 60-100% and it causes the A/C to run non-stop in the summer. I have tried silicon oil, white lithium grease, W-D40 - EVERYTHING. If I clean out the smuts that as collected in the lithium grease out and squirt MORE silicon oil in it, it will work well three times, then it's back to this again. I SO wish I would've returned it when I had the chance and I would NOT recommend this. I have drilled so many holes in my door trying to move it up and down different levels that I've pretty much RUINED the door on my LANDLORD'S house! If I could offer zero stars, I would. Buyer beware. (Or, MY fault for not immediately returning it!!) The pics shows how far it will close and to the right is a cat door, so that's another foot that would remain open!
